After a few encounters with the top-end Italian restaurant Garibaldi’s bigoli all’anatra ($28) – hand-made spinach noodles with braised duck and paprika – it is the sauce that stays with me.
The sauce tastes of both tangy tomatoes and robust duck, and is full-bodied yet light at the same time.
It is all so slurpable, I wolf down the al dente pasta sooner than I mean to.
And when the thick sauce solidifies into reddish granules on my fork, I throw table manners to the wind and lick the fork. Shh.
