    Vietnam as an animal lover

Hey I am concerned if I should include Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Giang, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay) if I am sensitive to animal suffering?

Could you please include the names of places such as markets, streets, etc... I should avoid if I don't want to see dead, caged or dying animals? This includes dogs, cats, birds, fish, farm animals, blood, bones, as well as the smell and odour of any of these creatures, living, dying or dead.

I am thinking about not going, bur there seems to be a lot of non-animal options as well. But I would like to know how to avoid the most offensive areas of Hanoi in particular. Thanks.

Not much of an animal lover if you don't even want to see or smell living animals.

They are in cages! What is going to be loving about witnessing them in such a tortured state. maybe someone should put you in a cage on display in a market and then your dull senses will wake up to what I meant.

I think metaphorically speaking we're all in cages aren't we.

I think you had him sussed on other thread, Cujo. It sounds like he needs a guide book to put his fucking bin out let alone leave the country.

It's quite cold in the north of Vietnam this time of year, so the dogs are freed from their cages and cooked.

We were in Hanoi exactly eight years ago.
Didn't see anything in a cage or even on a pole, and it was bloody cold.

Probably best to skip South East Asia entirely if you don't want to encounter any sort of animal horrors.
