There is heaps of dolly birds in shorty shorts cat calling and grabing the guys but but from what I have read sex tourism does not enjoy the respectability that it does in Thailand and is even frowned upon in some quarters so I am not quite sure what the go is with these girlies girls.

Tonight's in-room massage girl was very friendly but did not invite me to remove my boxers like lastnights girl or surreptitiously lock the door.

The waiter/owner geezer of tonights restaurant from Engerland addressed me as 'young man'. 'young man' from a bald english geezer is better than 'hansum man' from an asian lass in shorty shorts!

No beef curtains but i had something called beef hotpot I think that was gorgeous and not like anything I have ever tasted before. I don't know what was in it in terms of flavourings.

If this lulu-style-mut is still sitting on this bike tomorrow I might get the viet kitchen lady to wok the dog in the same sauce!

A couple of pics from the one we were in in HCMC a few years ago, NPT. Most of the Bia Hois I end up in in Vietnam tend to be outside, so I was surprised to find an inside boozer (it was round the corner from where my mate used to live).

    A Stroll around Saigon-hoi-jpg

The only picture I have of the inside is this (my mates are on the others) but, as you know, and the picture will suggest, it was a bit like Yates's or Wetherspoons at 12pm on a Tuesday.

    A Stroll around Saigon-bia-hoi-jpg

This was just after the awful beer in a plastic jug was served and the mystery meat on the table remains a mystery to this day. Many new friends were made though and I wish we'd stayed instead of fucking off in search of the Burnley v United game.

Nice thread Loops. Never tried HCMC after hating Hanoi, the traffic and it's people.

Cheeky dog eating fuckers even have the nerve to rename the Vietnam War- the American War.

Both quite different, Dil. It's not only the weather that gets warmer the further south you go...

(although the traffic is still horrendous)

^ photos of vast hordes of people? That's how I picture China

Or do you mean the 3 slappers?

I thought they were pretty cold the people. Had some guy try and place a bag of weed in my hand in a nightclub toilet which i let drop to the floor. His mate the copper would have been waiting outside.

I'd imagine HCMC is much alike Hanoi in terms of scammers and to see the best of the Vietnamese you need to get out in the countryside I hear.

I can imagine they look at all whiteys and remember the Yanks shelling and raping.

And thats the point isn't it - if you follow tripadvisor you'll just end up in another tourist haunt, never really get to feel what the country is like. You don't take risks you are never going to find the gems or as TC says you gotta kiss a lot of pigs before you find your prince

I finally found a python handler of my own in a massage parlour on Bui Vien and got the bags emptied.

I shall be travelling a bit lighter tomorrow with a skip in my step.

The lovely young lady had a tiny waist and spoke not a word English but invited me with gestures to unclip her bra strap and tickle her firm little hatpegs as she went about her business which was jolly sporting of her I thought!

The old fella wouldn't go down for about 20 minutes again but the language barrier meant I could not allay the young lady's obvious concerns before smiling and leaving with my bag held in front of me.

Loops, great pics and thanks for sharing. Looks like you're enjoying it and it brings back memories - the crowding ...but i liked it more than Thailand in the crowds - felt hectic but more friendly. Again sorry Hick but love the lack of tattoos, Keep having a great time and flying the flag.

Thanks for the pics & stories, loopy dahlink. good to see that you're enjoying yourself. Are you going to do the Cu Chi tunnel tour? I recommend it - it's touristy but I liked it, interesting & educational. Just do a half day tour (you might get bored with the whole day tour) and try crawling in the caves!

Btw, have I mentioned that I'm half Viet?

How curious that you should mention it darlink Katie as I am off this very day to Cu Chi to explore some tunnels.

I heard it is hot and sweaty but I am up for anything!

I have already bought my souvenir vietcong hat and Ho Chi Minh T-shirt and I shall report back toute suite if I do not get lost, trapped or blown up by the enemy!

I wanna fire an M60 like at the end of Rambo 1 (the best rambo!)

You did not mention being half vietnamese - what a delicious fusion recipe!

One thing I remember about Vietnam is that those fuckers make the thais look like amateurs in the scam/rippoff stakes.
I remember arriving at the airport late and looking for a taxi into town. They all wanted $30 USD for a $10 dollar ride. I ended up hitching a ride on another hotels minibus.
Another time I told the driver where to go and he asked If I had hotel. I reminded him I had just told him to take me to a certain hotel and he said he would take me to his friends hotel.
I said I didn't want to go to his friends hotel I wanted to go to my usual (booked) hotel. So we left and I dozed in the back. It wasn't until I was half out of the car and the concierge was getting my bag out of the boot that I realized he had taken me to his friends hotel after all the little slimy kunt. When we eventually got to the hotel I had originally told him to take me to he wanted extra for the extra miles and time AND a fuckin tip. Needless to say he got a tip alright.
Apart from that love the cheap steaks and bread rolls and some awesome really nice restaurants (if you know some locals.)

@loopy dahlink - yes, I am indeed half Viet. I mentioned it in my Saigon thread - pics are gone now due to the photobucket purge. I've been to Saigon 3x (because that's where my relatives are) but haven't been to the North - will do so soon.

I miss the pho and banh mi sold from carts near my aunt's place. Loopy, pls be a dear and post pics of pho (beef noodle soup) and banh mi (baguette sammich).
