    Shan State Weekender

Had a long weekend so decided to get away from Mandalay for a weekend in the hills. Spent nearly all of the time hiking or mountain biking.
Day 1 was an easy ride around the Eastern mountains of Inle Lake

Day 2 was a hike around the village surrounding the main tourist town- very easy but it was super hot

Day 3- I decided to cycle up the Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State- it was mostly uphill and a really struggle at times. The views made up for it. A 70 km round trip.

Well done. Looks great. You have bags of energy. Much more than me anyway.

Damn right. I'd need at least a 650cc engine attached to the bike to do that.

Thanks, one place I've always wanted to visit, though never got around to it yet.

Mandy, I have to say that you must be seriously mad to even consider cycling in that heat up the switchback road to Taunggyi.....
