    Myanmar eVisa

Just a bit of info that might be useful to some.
I just applied for a eVisa for Myanmar, it took just 3 days for visa approval email and cost just £25.00 GBP
    Very handy.

    ^ cheers.

where in Burma can you get to or cannot go with that?

    Any nice beaches?

judging by the 2 posters on here who are there, it doesnt seem too appealing to be honest

I've only been to yangon. Which I liked but im guessing there's some good beaches there? maybe nice to check them out before the inevitable development. Gotta do a bit more research on it I think. I still want access to cheap AND cold beer a hut with an aircon , seafood, Couple of girly bars, reasonable transportation, white sandy beach, The occasional Steak, im easy pleased me.

Been all over the country inthe past 3 years and love it, great people, lots to see and do, Reasonably priced for travel and hotels ARE NOT as expensive as many claim.
NO GIRLY BARS an dont need them and wont ever see them there. ONLY steaks in 4&5 star hotels, White sand beach and crystal clear waters off near Dawei down south. Imagine Khao lak 30 years ago!!!
Online visa is $50.... https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/, ( no idea how u only paid £25.00 GBP) usually only takes 24 hours or less

Only some areas closed ( Rakhine state near Bangladesh and areas near thailand)
Can enter by land or fly in

I went there in June and had a great time. I applied for the E-visa on a Friday morning and it was finalized on the following Monday morning....easy as could be. Surprisingly, their website worked far better than most.

I only went to Yangon and Mandalay but spent several days in both. They are quite different; Yangon seems big and busy, whereas, Mandalay had a 'small town' feel to it. It was very rainy in Yangon but nice and sunny in Mandalay. I found the people to be extremely nice and friendly. I thought the cuisine was far less than exciting but it was smack dab in the middle of durian season.....which was a huge plus. All in all, I was really glad I went.
