Smile Decaf coffee in Ho Chi Minh City?

Greetings fellow expats and armchair travelers!
I will be heading to Vietnam for the December holidays with my Vietnamese fiancée and her 10-year old daughter. While we are both coffee lovers, she is strictly a decaf addict. I read that finding decaf is extremely difficult in HCM City, and several low-caffeine blends ("Passiona" by Trung Nguyen) and others have been discontinued or relegated to the shadows. Geez, can somebody recommend any cafes in vicinity of District 1 that sell decaf beverages? I reluctantly searched Starbucks online in that region but the info came up dry in this regard.

after the recent and mostly unreported outbreak of caffeine induced cardiac arrythmic stenosis our intrepid travellers would be well advised to stick to herbal teas.

not sure what the decaf stuff is - wouldn't you be better just mixing some dirt with your hot water ?

but coffee is good for you

rinking two or more cups of a coffee a day can ward off liver diseases, according to researchers at Monash University.

Two cups a day have been found to reduce the damage caused by hepatitis C by up to 13 per cent.

Four cups have been found to reduce the signs of fatty liver disease – the most common liver disease affecting about 40 per cent of Australians – by as much as 24 per cent.
The study of 1100 liver disease patients at the Monash Health Clinic showed that even when other risk factors such as weight, alcohol consumption and smoking were taken into account, coffee was able to reduce the impact of their conditions.
Dr Alex Hodge, a liver disease specialist at Monash Health, revealed the findings of the study this week at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases in San Francisco.
"Certainly moderate amounts of coffee, depending on the liver disease you're looking at, seem to be associated with less liver damage and probably less liver fat, as well," he told Fairfax radio station 3AW.

Turnip man has impeccable taste.if all else fails Lavazza Gold is a reasonable substitute and the Route 66 sold in some thai stores.

No disrespect but what is the point of drinking decaff, if I don't want a coffee I prefer Oolong,Red wine or water?

Personally, I'd never drink Decaf because the stuff that strips caffeine from the beans has been compared to paint thinner. Also, I have no trouble falling asleep while imbibing the caffeine-delivery system. My Vietnamese fiancée on the other hand, can't sleep a wink if she so much as sips "real coffee". Well, she survived and is back home in States while I continue to explore Burma, I mean Myanmar.

If Myanmar is more attractive than the fiancee you may be on a Bumma, in my ltd experience women don't get any less picky as the age

Wouldn't such usage of a term, decaf addict, be an oxymoron?

    Just askin' like.

How is asking for roast ground coffee solving the decaf dilemma?
All coffee is roasted and ground.
