Anyone fancy a pint of bitter?

Only problem here being, they serve flat beer "Down South.."

    Terrible way to live.

HDR is when you take 3 pictures at different exposures and merge them using specialist software. It produces the same effect as the picture I highlighted and others, interesting skies but can produce a halo around items as with the London eye capsule.

There's a thread about it here (High Dynamic Range Imaging)

Thanks for that Bobcock, I'll see if I can learn and remember.

Green Park is a nice part of London.

You can walk down from Piccadilly,
past The Cavendish where Flobo and
self stayed, on to The Ritz (we have stayed in
The Ritz in the past,) sensational place,
afternoon tea there is something else.

Last time we stayed there was 1997.

    Definitely have some hard photographs,
I'll get Flobo to dig them out sometime.

The lack of rain had been playing havoc with the
normal beautiful verdancy associated with Green Park.

Strange way to spend an afternoon.

But of course you never know what has happened in life.

I left him a decent tip after taking the photograph.

I've seen this section of Park thick with deck chairs,
folk lying on the grass sunbathing or simply
    passing the time of day.

    The Milkmaids Passage.

    It runs behind The Ritz.

There was a Naked Protest about something or another
on this Park some years back. Can't remember the details
but apparently it drew a large number of sightseers.

Maybe they keep these Mounted Police hanging about here,
    Just in case.

    Two beautiful horses.

The two bobbies look like twins!
All the women take their blouses off
And the men all dance on the polka dots
    It's closing time !

I like people watching in places like London.

The Victoria Monument is an outstanding work of art.

The Queen Victoria Memorial statue stands opposite
Buckingham Palace at the end of London’s Mall.

It commemorates the death of England’s longest
reigning monarch, Queen Victoria, it was unveiled by George V in 1911.

The statue was carved from a two-thousand pound
    block of solid marble, with figures representing;
    Truth, Peace, Constancy and Motherhood.
    Other figures include Charity, War,
    Architecture and Manufacture.

There are always plenty of folk in this locality of course.

Folk never stop coming to Buckingham Palace.

This is well worth clicking onto.

Plenty of folk on The Tourist Buses.

One thing about London, there is no shortage of things to do.

Great night life to go with everything.

We have had some amazing nights out in the clubs
around The West End over the years.

    Downing Street.

Pity it had to be gated.

Again we have some photographs from
when you could walk down to Number 10.

One of Flobo stood in the doorway next to the
Bobby on duty and the front door was open.

    Will definitely dig them out.

You could walk to Number 10, carry on past Number 11, down a narrow type
of ginnel which took you out on Horse Guards Parade.

Then you could follow the road over to The Mall,
walk past Clarence House and down to Buckingham Palace.

Some Micks upset the apple cart though!

I wonder if he was serving a warrant?

    These Lads look outstanding.

The Bear Skin Lads at The Palace and other places too
are a major attraction for the tourists in general.

Amazing really with all the injuries and deaths in Afghanistan
especially, there is a long waiting list to get into the Army at present.

    Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.

He has done some amazing work with regards to training in the interim.

    Enjoyed every minute of it.

He receive his letter this morning, stating that
he would be going in on the 9th January 2011.
    Straight to Catterick.

They have also stated that he could be
    called earlier in the interim.

Only seems like yesterday when he started all these courses.

He's been doing all sorts of courses with the
Army for nearly two years now.

The levels of fitness he has attained are outstanding.

Various educational learning skills and much more besides.

It's done him a lot of good.

He has wanted to go into the
    Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (Infantry)
    right from the start.

Couple of Regiments he could have got into months ago,
but he has stuck by his decision for Lancashire.

    I like that.

Interesting that a complete Railway Station is being constructed

There are some really nice looking pubs along The Thames.

Several recent builds like The Anchor.

It's quite remarkable how much there really is to see in London.

    The Old Thames Side Inn.

A sensational replica of Sir Francis Drakes Ship
    'The Golden Hinde' sits alongside.

Apparently they have a dressed up crew and
give first class entertainment regarding life at sea

600 odd sprawling miles that make-up this metropolis.

Sorry don't have a picture but Churchill Arms on Kensington Church St is a great pub. They serve large portions of Thai food at only 6.95p a plate. Ideal to keep the wife happy.
