    UK - Snow Day

Today was a Snow Day for me and the missus. Everything called off.

I cleared the car and took a trek down the driveway to see if the road was passable to go shopping

    Driveway was snowy but passable.

Walk down it was quite nice

That is a really steep hill with an even steeper bit at the top. At one point there was a bread lorry, three cars, a four wheel drive all trying to get up, the landrover nipped around no problem, lorry made it up, the others some got up but fucked their cars, one guy wheels span full tilt all the way up and then couldnt make the last bit, u-turned back and drove back up an even narrower snowed in road to try there. You could hear his now knackered CV joints clicking away.

I walked up the hill to have a laugh at the people and saw these horses

It was around then that I remembered I had left the car running and had to go home, 40 odd minutes later. Fucked the MPG's up again.

Grabbed the missus and went out for a walk and lunch

    This is Tripod.

Those trees are looking onto the back of the property.

    River had ice on it.

    Leading into town.

Walking back up the train station to the back gate to go home after lunch.

Tyne. Bit further up it though.

Tripod only has three legs. He leaves interesting foot prints in the snow.

I went back to the road to see if it had been cleared anymore.

Wan't much snowier today, but the cold had kept the snow on the trees nicely.

    Road is better than yesterday

    Sun was rising

I forgot to take anymore of the village or river.

They came and did the drive today. The committee decided to hire the gangsters from up the hill to scrape up the snow, drop 5 dumper buckets of sand down and then smooth it into the snow. It was a good idea before smoothing it into the snow.

Going to have to watch the cars tonight now those lads have seen the gate open due to the cold. Naughty, naughty they are.

    Nice thread.

We might just be in a real mess if it carries on though.

They are talking of major problems in meeting the present demands for rock salt.

They appear to be trying to stretch it out.

Wankers said on the radio just before christmas, that they had enough as long as it didn't go on for 7 days or more.

AA man said, that's not good enough, man on the radio said, it will be ok, it's going to be a mild winter.

    Wankers.

That satellite picture is great. Total snow cover and no clouds. I use it as a desktop background now. Greened for posting it.

The latest snow pictures with sun even more beautiful than the ones before.
