    Holmfirth festival of folk.

Well its that time of year again, and what better way to kick it off, than with a visit to the Holmfirth folk festival.

Welcome to the Holmfirth Festival of Folk

Where the heck is Holmfirth I hear you ask. Well its a small town south of Huddersfield, nestled at the foot of the pennines in the peak district. Some of you may be more familiar with the place if I were to mention "Last of the summer wine" (the worlds longest running sitcom).

Whats it all about this ere festival then?
Well its set over a weekend in may, and varying groups of artists come from all over the country to show us different kinds of folk music, from traditional to contemporary, to just plain bizarre. I suppose its really just about having a good time and damn good piss up. Anyway enough of me babbling on, let me show some footage from this year.

A folk festival wouldnt be a folk festival without some morris dancing.

I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope
Let the undercurrent drag me along.

Although the folk scene isnt really my thing, its always a good weekend whatever the weather, and this year the weather was superb, so lots of drinking outside.

Ah righto. Back when winters were winters, and we still used carrier pigeons for a postal service.
