The most famous site is the Modernist brutalist cathedral, my pop pulled the bodies from the old St Michael's Cathedral after the devastating bombing, so I had a peek, I won't relay those horrors which haunted him. worse than the arakan campaign. The German's coined the word Coventrate or Coventried for total wipe out of the Baedeker small cities in WW2

Coventry's new cathedral adopted a modernist design. The interior is notable for its huge tapestry (once thought to be the world's largest) of Christ, designed by Graham Sutherland, the emotive sculpture of the Mater Dolorosa by John Bridgeman in the East end, and the Baptistry window designed by John Piper (made by Patrick Reyntiens) of abstract design that occupies the full height of the bowed baptistery, which comprises 195 panes, ranging from white to deep colours. The stained glass windows in the Nave, by Lawrence Lee, Keith New and Geoffrey Clarke, face away from the congregation. Spence's concept for these Nave windows was that the opposite pairs would represent a pattern of growth from birth to old age, culminating in heavenly glory nearest the altar—one side representing Human, the other side, the Divine. Also worthy of note is the Great West Window known as the Screen of Saints and Angels, engraved directly onto the screen in expressionist style by John Hutton.

You're asking half a dozen South-East Asian based sexpests/delinquents about current recommendations for things to do in some minor city in a part of the UK that no one cares about?
Go onto a Coventry based facebook group and ask them ya dumbnutz, presuming the internet made it to the west middies.
I'd say a morning would be enough.
Afterwards I'd gtf out of Coventry and head to Stratford Upon Avon.
I suppose you wouldn't be that interested in Love's Labours Lost at the RSC?
In that case just a stroll around town and by the river plus a few pub visits is better than anything else you could do in Coventry except buy drugs.
Lived in Coventry most of my life. Go with Cyrille's recommendation.
Had a school visit to Coventry cathedral to see the "Pregnant Jesus" back in the early 70's. It must have been something for me to still remember it.
Agree with Cyrille, make it a quick visit and head to Stratford Upon Avon.
Agree with Cy and even if no performance RSC and Stratford town lovely , nearby Henley on Arden used to have great ice creams.
Assuming start in Cheshire could include nearby Kenilwoth Castle or excellent Warwick Castle(avoid school hols)
Contrary to lulu we seem to have plenty of local knowledge I was in Coventry albeit briefly last September, main streets and hotels in all second tier cities seem pretty similar, people friendly and less edge than larger places.
it's a complete shithole is Cov
There's a decent transport museum there and statues of Jeff Whittle and Lady Godiva.
Just been reading about the music museum.
The best thing to come out of Cov is the A46 that'll lead you to Warwick, Stratford or down here on the piss
Been there once or twice.
So basically you know nothing about Coventry, so people shouldn't ask about it.
My wife sends me to Coventry on a regular basis.
Sometimes it's enjoyable.
Well he did really get into the nuts and bolts of the comment.
