Vlogs seem to be all the rage nowadays, but here at TD the humble blog tickles the fancy.
Let's kick off with a travelling tune to fire up the thread..
GREAT STUFF MATE.
I look forward to viewing your adventure.
A scorcher of a week and it's time to roll over the Derbyshire Dale's and into South Yorkshire..
The police over here are notorious ,best be good boy..
Home to Snooker, the world famous Crucible..
The Lyceum is here also..
Anyone guess where we are yet?
Here's a clue..
Very much a student City and very quiet during the holidays, in fact the whole City centre is near enough a giant Student campus.
Some more architecture..
The town Hall..
The Cathedral, with some eye candy..
A massive tropical greenhouse structure at the heart of the city..
No tramps or crack heads about which is always a good sign.
Another University building..
The old world train station with a hint of modernism..
The students union building appears to be from another planet..
Was starting to get a bit peckish so popped into a "Karens" diner, yes it's real.
Customers actually pay to be nagged and abused by the staff and guests what..they are all called Karen.
I was promptly told to fvck off on account of not having a reservation, much to everyone's amusement.
Not to be deterred I returned later and did a video of me talking total incoherent babble to the staff and recieved a round of applause from the seated customers.
We found somewhere else to eat,not bad for a fiver..
Before we headed back over the hills I clocked TDs Luigis ex fling on the high street, she said to not pass on her regards..
It's hot!
Lubrication beckons.
There's a drought on apparently.
Tbc..

On our way back over t'hills we sought solace from the heat via some wild swimming.
Back to nature...
Lucky heather anyone, tbesure tbsure..
An Oasis...
Who's that fine figure of a man..
Where's Looper with his zoom lens when you need him..
You don't have to go far for a slice of paradise in this neck of the woods..
A refreshing few hours dam building and rock tower building..
A fine way to finish the day!
Anyone recognise this street art mural of the Manchester music industry?
Tbc..
The great metropolis beckons..
Reservoirs are low..
Bit of local wildlife to get Cyrille excited..
Scraped the front spoiler of my car for this pic, I really have to get accustomed to not driving a 4WD..
Some Street arty farty pics and fire escape pics to escape the inferno..
One for you Ciz, I know you're a fan..
WTF..
Give me a winner, winner chicken dinner..
With a tantalising trio of treacle n toffee/ strawberry n vanilla/chocolate n mint ice cream.
Tbc

Dare I ask...how is a one hour drive a '500 mile road trip'?
Are you visiting Universities for one of your kids to join? If so, well down and all the best to him/her. A proud father moment.
The waterhole looks like top fun in the heat.
Premature ejacucriticism.
I thought I'd indulge in a pint of the local bitter and give you some Yorkshire trivia..
Yorkshire is the largest county in the UK, spanning 2.9 million acres. It is often split into three geographical areas; North, West or the East Riding.
However, it comes as a bit of a surprise to find that Yorkshire is also larger than the following countries of Europe: Denmark (5,162,000), Finland (5,092,000), Norway (4,272,000), Iceland (264,000), Cyprus (756,000), Malta (360,000) Albania (3,422,000), Bosnia (4,365,000), Croatia (4,821,000), Estonia (1,536,000),
Now onto the latest installment and a whopping 180 miles on the clock so the mathematically gifted amongst us can keep tabs of the 500mile road trip
Aye, aye, what's that in the distance?
Wow!
What an old world "Hogwarts " establishment...
The administration block
The main hall, check out that organ!
Clock porn..
After a coffee and cupcake, myself left the eldest to his tour and the youngest and I went exploring.
The University of Bangor sits upon the hillside overlooking this remarkable small city.
There are some small Citys in Wales, i think the smallest is St.Davids with a population of 1200.
A cathedral is the criteria for City status if you didn't know already.
Tbc..
Is this a giant sundial, a mini Welsh stonehenge with no damage or a sacrificial altar were the Pagans congregated for debauchery and sheep sacrifice??
The salty aroma of sea air beckons...
You make your own fun in these parts,no need to go splashing the cash.
Just splash skimming stones across the water trying to decapitate the seagulls or slice up and dissect the jelly fish.
Plenty of cheap vessels for sale around these parts, just need a captains hat and a bottle of dark rum..
Random machinery shot and some seafacing hundred grand 2up 2 downs ..
We found a cave..
And an old jetty, smell that aroma of damp stone!
I can only imagine the stimulation that those aromas arouse.
You know the score Hal, waking up at the crack of Abdullah in Cairo
We found a pier!
50pence optional entrance fee!!!
Naturally I paid up after enquiring if it was half price for kids. The most perfect pier it has ever been my pleasure to step foot on.
Nearly half a mile long and stretching far out into the Menai Straights with no arcades, no ice cream sellers, just a small pavillion and a giant deck chair at the end.
This is August, it should be packed!
Nope we had it all virtually to ourselves but jeez it was blustery..
Time to warm up and get away from the deafening wind, seriously it was that intense.
The old Taffy at the entrance kiosk directed us to the main street which incidentally is the longest high street in the UK.
After three hours walking past a million charity shops we plotted up outside the cathedral for an hour chatting to this tattoed Taffy with a family of Staffordshire Bull Terriers and 3 × 6 week old pups.
A slice of puppy heaven..
Mum, dad, 3 pups all playing in the sun.
A memorable experience!
The Cathedral....
No entrance fee or donation required.
In fact , just walk around ..
Some splendid detail and architecture.
Bangor City has to be my favourite on this road trip so far.
Popped over to Anglesey for a pint then onwards across the Menai Bridge..
Stopped of at a rather fine eatery recommended by a youtuber called Danny on "rate my takeaway " channel..
3 kebab meats , salad, sauces, fresh breads, falafel, salads, chips. The big box all for £10 !
Sorted us all out.
A solid 10 from me!!!
Tbc..

Oh wow another pic thread of the bloody old English countryside. [puke] It's like the brits have colonized TD the Thai expat forum. You brit expats really spend your day sitting in front of the computer ooohing and aaahing over pics of bloody old England, and a plate of fucking beans. We need more fucking bean pics.
I love these threads and the historical theme.
Kudos to Mendip and Joe for taking the time to entertain me at least.
Great pics, Joe! Carry on.
Your daughter didn't join the trip? Only your sons? Cute dogs.
Btw, good onya for this blog. So have you given up on YT and the vlog idea? (it's tough to monetize)
This has to be the most depressing country on the planet. Now I understand Brits cumming to Thailand.
Green sent I guess......
