Not swam in the sea for over a year so decided for my 50th birthday, that was my present to myself.
The nearest beach to us is New Brighton it was the hottest day of the year(32oC), so we loaded up the deck chairs and picnic and hit the road.

Having a mooch around when the tide went out I spotted a few mermaids limbering up beside a dancing pole with the lighthouse in the background.
So without wanting to appear a perv unlike their fat photographer, I got a few pics...here's one of them..
They could hang upside down, clenching just their calf muscle to the pole.

There's a new coastal cycle path been put in, so i shall be investigating that on my bike later this month.
