Pretty busy on the cycling front today.

Took my trusty road bike for its final ride out...

^ Careful you don't do a Corrie McKeague mate.

I reckon your weather opp norf looks better than down here... we've been a bit cloudy today.

My dad used to play bowls and I'd love to get into it. I'll have to get the gardener to start fixing up our lawn a bit.

Congrats on the new unit. The matte finish looks cherry. Disk brakes is a clear upgrade.

What is the price range of a bike like this ?

Technically challenging stuff that mate, you may need to provide him with s pair of scissors and a ruler.

Thanks, just the plain road tyres.

    Boy does it shift!!!

If I apply the same consistency and power of the old bike I'm smashing 25mph on the new one.

Will be interesting to see how it manages hills.

They're tubeless anti puncture tyres, all new to me.

My friend's father had one. A 2 litre engine, IIRC. Reportedly went well in straight lines. We weren't allowed near it.

There's a 16mm tyre for velodrome riders, wouldn't want to use that on the road.

The tyres on my new ride felt like pizza cutters today.
With the added bonus that they're puncture proof, so no need to carry a pump and spare inner tubes anymore.

Gonna mix it up a bit with this post...

I've been driving in my car
    It's not quite a Jaguar
I bought it in Primrose Hill
    From a bloke from Brazil
    It was made in fifty-nine
In a factory by the Tyne
It says Morris on the door
    The GPO owned it before
I drive in it for my job
The governor calls me a slob
    But I don't really care
Give me some gas and the open air
    It's a bit old but it's mine
I mend it in my spare time
Just last week I changed the oil
The rocker valves and the coil
Just last week I changed the oil
Last week it went 'round the clock
I also heard a little knock
    I dented somebody's fender
He learned not to park on a bender, ha ha ha
I've been driving in my car
And it don't look much but I've been far
I drive up to Muswell Hill
I've even been to Selsey Bill
    I drove along the A45
I had her up to fifty-eight
This copper stopped me the other day
    "You're mistaken, " what could I say?
The tires were a little worn
They were ok, I could have sworn
I like driving in my car
I'm satisfied I've got this far
I like driving in my car
It don't look much but I've been far
I like driving in my car
    Even with a flat tire
I like driving in my car
    It's not quite a Jaguar
I like driving in my car
I'm satisfied I've got this far.

All the way to Haydock Park for the Madness Concert!!

I've been waiting 40 years to see them live and they didn't disappoint!!

All ages in attendance and a record capacity for the racecourse, tbf most went for the 90minute concert!

    Plenty of merchandise on sale..

Plenty of bookies making a fortune track side..

Mostly groups of lads and girls having a mega day out, it felt like pre covid times again.

The Jockey Club know how to get the crowds in, people who wouldn't ordinarily be interested in horse racing etc..

The concert was probably the best I've ever been too and x great first concert for the kids.

Time for a few Madness tunes...

I started the chant at the end " We want more!!"

Of course Suggs and Co delivered..

^^Great pics Joe, and plenty of variety in the entertainment too. I asked the question about tyres because I use the crossover stuff on my tourer. The knobbly bits help if you have to go off road. That happens a lot more here.
Great to see Madness still doing live shows.
