2 hours in freezing temperatures today, it was dry and sunny so all's good.
Thought I'd bang a few random alternative cycling pics up for a change..
Been itching for a ride for over a week now, but I've been rained off untill today.
Alas, the festive joy hasn't been washed away..
Twas like the Tour de France out there today..
Since the leaves have dropped of the trees I keep seeing these bunkers all over the place..
Some Gandhi street art..
Two hours and 30 miles later, this hit the spot..
Merry Christmas all.
You just happened to meet the Man City owners ?
Your food looks good
Donkey or sheep ?
Merry Christmas mate.
I just love pictures of the English countryside.
But PAG's pic of big tits take some beating!
First ride out of the year and jeez was it chilly.
Iced up water and snowy hills..
Of course the usually quite country roads had now been invaded by the Covid zombies determined to get Boris's recommended one hours daily exercise.
Even though they were all socially distancing each other like dodgems at the fun fair.
First dry day in ages, so I hit the road..
Visited the 2nd largest airport in the UK, it was a ghost town...
Only Terminal 1 was open.
Refreshing few hours of cardio.
Flooded fields are frozen lakes now.
No rain or wind, dry and sunny.
Trying to purchase a new pair of size 11.5 /47 cycling shoes with matching cleats and pedals is becoming tiresome.
Rustled up a damn reasonable "En salada mixed" on my return.
Baby new potatoes boiled and smothered in butter.
Thinly diced, red onion, green pepper, cherry tomatoes and some basil.
Not forgetting a tin of John West tuna and a dollop of mayo, all mixed up.
Took a few minutes to make.
Very nice
Invested in a pair of Shimano pedals with some Muddyfox road bike shoes after much deliberation and intensive online shopping.
Everything to do with cycling and exercise in general is sold out in the UK due to Covid.
Anyhow, christened my new road bike kit with startling results!
I can now climb hills in lesser gears, I'm faster with less effort as my power is focussed.
It truly is rebirth and renaissance moment with my cycling!
The only problem is clipping in and clipping out, I think I've got the knack of it now after two hours of trial and error.
The error part was quite amusing to the observer as I approached a T-junction and abruptly fell over like a domino, check out the video for an amusing comparison.
The new footwear..
A few war wounds..
Didn't take many scenary pics today as I was too focused on staying moving.
After cycle meal, hit the spot..
A pic to summarise cycling this past year..
People are out and about more now it appears we have broken the back of this pandemic, people are smiling and more inclined to say hello after a tortuous winter lockdown.
Looking forward to exploring further afield this year, might explore Sheffield, Chester and the Rossendale Valley.
Keep on peddling!
Jeez it was fresh in the hills today, frozen tear drops on thy cheek.
No accidents today,I've managed the knack of clipping in and out now.
A few pics...
Random machinery shot and mole hills, yep they're out of hibernation.
One for the tree hugging thread..
Guess who?
Speg Boll with homemade garlic bread for sustenance..
Keep on pedaling.
The weather's looked nice over the past few days on the telly, but it seems to have been fucking freezing this winter.
The worst winter in living memory in more than one sense of the word.
^ Global warming Hal?
Always an enjoyable thread to visit with great pictures, food and commentary.
Nice... spring is finally on it's way!
But you'd never get away with those shoes down my parts.
Cheers chaps.
A brutal few hours oop and down the Derbyshire Dale's today..
Don't normally see Deer at this time of year..
Last month this spot had 6 inches of snow..
Ears are popping up here..
Numb nuts..
Holy mother of fuck
^ You should do a Cujo pose just for fun and to get Tax riled up. Put your bike on the kick stand and then lift one leg and rest it on the bike
After the longest Winter on record, well it felt that way.
We in the UK have been propelled into a glorious Spring.
21oC today with the aromas of wild garlic, spring lamb shit and daffodils in the air I clipped onto my 3 gear racer and had a spin around the flat Cheshire lanes.
Wild Geese..
Spring Lambs basking in the sunshine..
Daffodils..
Four Man Utd employees lived in this cul-de-sac in the 90,s..
Cole, Yorke, Robson and Fergie.
Home to a Manchester Triad boss now..
George Bests old crib from the 1980's
One last one...This Man Utd player invited a couple of slappers back here and had his watch collection worth over £100,000 robbed, can you name him??..
A Vulcan bomber in the distance at the AVRO museum, the former runway is a housing estate now.
Home made chips, baby sausages and baked beans!!!
Looking like another good year for cycling

Ryan Giggs.
That 'meal' could have done with some carbonara to liven it up a bit.
Nice pics... my mum told me yesterday that her daffodils are already over. Big difference between the south and up north.
