Saw a few deer, some sexy strange sheep but alas no goats.
Will keep an eye out for them next time.
I heard rumours that the local goats bred with some escaped wallabies brought back from Oz many decades ago by a Lord Byron. This info is from a credible source ie my business associate from Nimbin, Byron Bay. Oz.

Been a while since i've been on my bike and today was an exceptional ride out.

Having watched some of the Tour de Britain live yesterday up the Cat and fiddle(the second hill climb of the stage), pictures of the area uncongested are earlier in my thread.

I decided to Hit the latter stage of the tour today over in leafy Knutsford, follow the orange/yellow bikes and your on the tour.



At the finish line, all the barriers and everything else had been moved onto the next stage in Wales for today overnight.

The "Tour de Cheshire"cycling monument was left..


Loads of road art on the tour mostly for the benefit of the TV helicopters.



Some friendly wildlife in Tatton Park, but alas no goats.

Conquered stage two of the Cheshire hill climb today.

Not for the faint hearted, the brutal "Brickworks"..

One hour up and 10 minutes of white knuckle ride action going down, breaking the 40mph speed limit.

Feel the burn on the way up to the Alien "massive" wilderness....

Love these threads and would love to do a TD Tour de Thailand with you fellas. My boy, Wayne Jnr, has the bug and thing that pisses me off is it is so hard to find somewhere to ride. These pics from here in Fiji on a Sunday when everyone in Church. I've accepted an invite to ride Masters level track cycling again so always looking to get some miles in the old tree trunks. You guys in merry-o-engerland have it good.

Biggest sunflower i've seen this year..



Plenty of gold post boxes in our neck of the woods with the cycling velodrome up the road and Team GB based in the North West.

To commemorate British and Irish gold medal winners at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Paralympics, various post boxes in the home towns of the medal winners around the United Kingdom, plus one each on Sark and the Isle of Man, were repainted gold. It marked the first occasion in modern times that the colour of post boxes in the United Kingdom had been changed from their traditional red. Originally intended to be a temporary measure, due to the positive public response it was later decided the colour change would become a permanent tribute, with boxes additionally receiving their own special plaques.

Amazing what you see on your travels, far more than driving a car.

Roadkill sightings today - 1 Badger, 1 Ferret, 2 Foxes, 6 crows and about a million midgies picked out of my teeth.

The Jodrell Bank Observatory (originally the Jodrell Bank Experimental Station, then the Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories from 1966 to 1999; /ˈdʒɒdrəl/) is a British observatory that hosts a number of radio telescopes, and is part of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. The observatory was established in 1945 by Sir Bernard Lovell, a radio astronomer at the University of Manchester who wanted to investigate cosmic rays after his work on radar during the Second World War. It has since played an important role in the research of meteors, quasars, pulsars, masers and gravitational lenses, and was heavily involved with the tracking of space probes at the start of the Space Age. The managing director of the observatory is Professor Simon Garrington.

The main telescope at the observatory is the Lovell Telescope, which is the third largest steerable radio telescope in the world.

My mountain bike has been parked in the shed for six months due to the shite weather or my knee playing up. Now the sun is making an appearance (don't let me curse it please! ) I've been back in the saddle for a short journey or two. I'll try to get some thread worthy pics if possible too.

Today's cycling caper has been to cycle till I carn't anymore.
Pick a fine spot for a high energy lunch and venture back.
I'm at the half way point, a fine country boozer that's full of cyclists on the piss, I'm on my third pint of Bitter top and all pain has evaporated.

Not in your league judging by your recent Toure de France.

I judge it by time in the saddle which was about 5 hours, so a rough calculation i'd say about 60 miles.
