    Golden Anniversary

We both feel really special at having reached our
    Golden Wedding Anniversary.

I wanted something Flobo would really appreciate,
thought about a couple of weeks or more on a special
trip to The Orient or anywhere on earth that really took our fancy.

Like I've mentioned before, we have changed our opinions regarding
travel as we have both attained the 'middle age' period of life.

So I did a very special treat for Flobo in secret!

I booked an extended stay at one of the finest London Hotels possible.

She knew I was taking her to London, first class on Virgin and that
we would be leaving from the local Station.

What the answer to the actual Hotel was,
I kept secret to the driving up to the front
of the same in The Rolls.

Even at the Station, it was go on tell me which Hotel.

A little over two and a half hours I rather imagined and we would be there.

Quite a gasp from her when we pulled into the Hotel drive.

    Happy Anniversary Princess.

    An outstanding venue.

    The accommodation, was perfect.

    Everything top class.

    Talk about comfort.

    Very special.

    Quality Counts as they say.

At 70 years of age, it's appreciated.

As they say, "A picture, paints a thousand words"

    Photographs do as well.

The drive to the venue was perfect.

Just a question of enjoying everything.

Like the view across the garden area to The River.

    It's very special.
All the women take their blouses off
And the men all dance on the polka dots
    It's closing time !

The Savoy is blessed with it's own private mooring
    directly opposite The Hotel.

Something very special about The Thames.

Along with everything else in The Metropolis.

Ideally situated, the building is not ostentatious in any manner.

Glamorous in it's own rights? Yes!

The weather wasn't brilliant, but apart from one shower it was dry.

    Very cold though.

    This was nice.

    Flobo really appreciated the same.

Along with everything else of course.

Reception Hall before being taken to nice
    private rooms for registration etc.

    Unpretentious style.

    This next one.

Not my photograph, I wish it was.

It shouldn't be a surprise that folk of
    our age enjoy people watching.

    We always have done.

Covent Garden is an ideal venue for such activity.

Even the young'uns were feeling the cold.

We enjoy walking be it our regular countryside or the cities,
    especially a City like London.

Buskers and entertainers all over the place.

    Some were really good too.

    Like Noah and The Whale.

She's a rock 'n' roll survivor with pendulum hips
    She's got deep brown eyes
    That've seen it all
Working at a nightclub that was called The Avenue
The bar men used to call her "Little Lisa, Looney Tunes"
She went down on almost anyone
From the hard time living 'til the Chelsea days
From when her hair was sweet blonde 'til the day it turned grey
    She said:

You've got more than money and sense, my friend
You've got heart and your goin your own way

    What a fantastic opening line!

    Plenty of simple activity.

    Passing the time of day.

    Flobo, said, fancy a Coffee?

    "Yep, lets take a walk."

It's a special celebration, let's have a coffee and double brandy apiece.

    "Great idea, which pub?"

"Not sure, so let's try one in both of them!"

    "Wow! Glad I came!"

    "Me too"

Really happy for you both, Flo and Mathos. Warm congratulations!

Is the American Bar still up and running in the Savoy? great place to have a martini with the ghost of Hemingway, etc- they say it was invented there. The Savoy Grill became 'just another' Gordon Ramsay outlet unfortunately, but it used to be my favourite London restaurant.

Hi Sabang, The American Bar is still up and running,
we spent an hours or two in there on two separate evenings.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Great music too via an excellent pianist.

Kaspars our breakfast choice and evening meals
    (fish /sea food especially) outstanding.

Kaspar's Seafood Bar & Grill | Fish restaurant at The Savoy, London

    Check the link, it's excellent.

I also surprised Flobo with an outstanding meal
plus Champagne etc. at The Ritz.

We stayed at The Ritz in 1997 for Lady Di's Funeral.

That was quite an experience, the meal last week and the general
    ambience was on another level.

Thanks for your kind and appreciated words.
