Saw a really nice Town House whilst on our walks.

The prices. We looked at one, nice property, £18 million plus.

On reflection, maybe we should have moved
down here in the mid 60's.

Hard enough to find £19..17..6d per month to pay
our mortgage to Hastings and Thanet Building society.

Those were the days that created our lives and future.

A visit to London, didn't enter the thought train in those days.

No sense getting ideas above your station.

    Then you realise... There is!

    We both admire property.

Some of the buildings down here are a world apart.

All the same, brilliant to look at.

This is to the rear of Clarence House.

(Home to HRH Prince Charles and Camilla).

There was an extremely strange looking Duck,
with the most peculiar feet in Green Park.

Might have been an alien of some kind.

Must say, I was really pleased with
    this photograph.

    Perfect timing I thought.

A few guys enjoying themselves in their Kayaks.

    The Thames accommodates so much.

    So much activity.

    So much productivity.

A lot of water has flowed under Westminster Bridge.

    What an amazing City.

Hey Mathos, they might not let you in there!

    That's The Tower of London.

    And, Tower Bridge.

A 70 year old Mathos taking it all in.

    Beautiful.

    And then some more.

    Everything looking really good.

    Including;- Mister William Shakespeare.

    The immortal Globe.

    Complimentary Buskers too.

    They were very good.

    Superb effort Mathos.

You really pushed the boat out with the Savoy and the Phantom.

Must have taken Flobo's breath away.

I was worried you might struggle to impress after last year's top effort in the lake district I think it was but you have excelled yourself and I think you can take a bow.

And may I say how handsome you are looking at the esteemed age of 70 and Flobo is looking well fit. Better start planning for the Diamond event in 2026.

    ONYA!!!

Looks likes Naaarwich train station from the start. Spent many a time on the left hand platform waiting for my train back to Yarmouth.

When I think of London, I am often minded of this poem (which wasn't written about London).

    William Street

The red globe of light, the liquor green,
the pulsing arrows and the running fire
    spilt on the stones, go deeper than a stream;
You find this ugly, I find it lovely

Ghosts' trousers, like the dangle of hung men,
in pawn-shop windows, bumping knee by knee,
    but none inside to suffer or condemn;
You find this ugly, I find it lovely.

Smells rich and rasping, smoke and fat and fish
and puffs of paraffin that crimp the nose,
    of grease that blesses onions with a hiss;
You find it ugly, I find it lovely.

The dips and molls, with flip and shiny gaze
(death at their elbows, hunger at their heels)
    Ranging the pavements of their pasturage;
You Find this ugly, I find it lovely .

Hi TD friends, thanks for all of the kind wishes
    and congratulations etc. Really appreciated.

Flobo endorses the thanks etc. really special.

Some great memories on these pages over the last
    eight years or so.

Thought Kaspar's Seafood Bar at The Savoy would be appreciated.

    From their own {pages!}

Arguably the most exciting restaurant launch in The Savoy's illustrious 125-year history, Kaspar's offers dazzling views of the River Thames and London landmarks. This informal yet luxurious dining experience evokes elegant 1920s style, where guests can indulge in sublime seafood specialities whilst envisaging the hotel’s rich and glamorous heritage.

Noticed I'd already mentioned and shown the pic of Kaspars.

Sorry for that: I'll put more water in the next one!

    Rear of the Palace,

Security, the visible points, the other you don't see.

Matter of fact, you only see what they want you to see.

That makes it kind of special.

    Checking in Miss, fingerprints first.

A great deal to look after down here.

    St James Palace.

St James's Palace is the official residence of
the sovereign and the most senior royal palace
    in the United Kingdom.

Located in the City of Westminster, although
no longer the principal residence of the Monarch,
it is the ceremonial meeting place of the
Accession Council and the London residence of several
    members of the royal family.

Plenty of these tour buses around The Metropolis.

Mathos prefers foot power here though.

    Flobo too.

We averaged a mean 8 miles each day on foot.

    Love The Mall.

We did a visit to Clarence house a good few years ago.

Due another this Autumn I think.

    It's special.

    All of it is.

Extra treat for Flobo on the actual Anniversary Day.

A very special day at The Ritz and Dinner of course.

    Totally different.

    Especially Flobo's cup of tea.

Don't ask me, some very special treat after the initial courses.

Another cup of tea for Flobo.

    My coffee was perfect.

It doesn't exactly look anything like as good though.

Comparing a coffee alongside a 'proper cup of tea'

    See what I mean,

Flobo was in her absolute element.

Great to see her like this.

    Like she said,

    Every serving is perfect.

All this and a bottle of 'Special Champagne'

    Talk about mouth-watering.

I hope I live long enough to find an occasion where this could be bettered.

    It even shone on photographs.

Mathos, it's 50 years putting up with you.

The lass needs a very special treat!

Look lads and lasses, just enjoy the pictures, don't ask me.

I've not got a clue, it was another experience in life
that will probably not be encountered.

    Not on this level anyhow.

    Which is which?

    Decisions, decisions!

I'll have the one on the left, and the one on the right.

Anybody can have the one in the middle.

This, just about say's it all.
