Is there not a bag limit that they must adhere to. ?
Surely they can't just plunder the area.

I'd have loved that as a kid, but as a parent I'd be worried sickOriginally Posted by klong toey

All i can say is responsible fishermen abide by the rules law is minimum landing size of 36cm,any bass smaller go back in the sea.It takes a sea bass around 6 years to grow to this size.Specimen bass takes at least 15 years to make double figures over 10 lbs growth rate is about 6 cm a year.
A lot of people fish for sport catch and release is normal i return at least 90 % of the fish i catch mainly because undersize.
These rule should be followed by everyone in the UK unfortunately quite a few people ignore the rules.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
Best sport down there is fishing for Bass or Mackerel with river tackle, great fun like big game fishing, and you end up with delicious fish for tea.
I think Dr Terence was talking about the crabs, innit?...Originally Posted by klong toey
There is not legal limit to rock pooling for shellfish as far as I am aware but I do know the local, small boat fishermen are throwing colossal amounts of fish beck because of limits. It cost them 87p per kilo to land over limit and fetches 50p per kilo at market.
Madness
^Got no time for those hobby fishermen in small boats,July 2012 went down Hope Gap at low tide found a net.
Had lots of dead and dying fish in,why some moron thinks its okay to but a 50 meter net on the low tide marks is beyond me.
Anyway i reported it and the boat responsible got a £3000 fine, should have taken their boat, car and houses of them as well.
