A "Jinksed" November honeymoon in Cornwall

No, the honeymoon wasn't cursed. It was absolutely wonderful and in a week we managed to see quite a lot of Cornwall.

The "Jinks" the title refers to is this one:



our Parson's Jack Russell Terrier, who we took with us. Ours was a very dog friendly honeymoon, so, there'll be plenty of pics of her.

Our base was Looe, but we begin the thread on Bodmin moor...

She's a Parson's Jack Russell. They're bred for rodent control etc above ground, so they have longer legs

OK, back in the UK we had some 'normal' Jack Russells; they had little legs and used to go down any hole they could find... They were excellent raters at the stables too.

The seafront of Looe, literally 2 mins from where we were staying







That seaweed absolutely stank and there were signs warning not to go to this part of the beach due to pollution - obviously something nasty had killed it!

St Ives on a gorgeous day. We went to see the Tate, which had a very interesting exhibition to do with the sea.









That last one is for Socal - he might want to visit & see if he can find his "ideal girl"

Stopping for a bit, but still plenty to come, including a cider farm, cream teas, Cornish pasties, Lands End and more...

Last occasion I visited the Looe was in 1967. It's been a difficult time since.

Can't deny it was cold (it was!) but in a way , being there at that time of year made the scenery even more beautiful. The winter light and the wildness, particularly near the sea... Breathtaking!

Anyway, onwards: St Michael's Mount.
We went there by pure fluke, as we had driven a weird way away from St Ives and eventually saw this thing on the horizon. When I checked the map, we saw what it was and headed there.






Unfortunately (as with a lot of places we visited), winter hours had just started for the tourist attractions, so the castle was closed, but we still had a little nose around

Next stop (same day) was Healey's cider farm. They make a brew called "Rattler" there and it's a working place. Not much to see, but the shop is amazing and their cream tea was pretty good.
