I stayed at a film themed hotel like that in Paddington a couple of years ago. When I got back one night I was lurching about drunk and caused £70 worth of damage.

Makes a nice change though. How long did it take to do up?

It was a real mess and because of Grade II listing and overbearing inspections fro council conservation was about 20 months, then three more to source furniture at auctions

Just restoring the ceiling in this room was twi weeks work - have to use original formula lime plaster and not allowed to chip away - only repair. Every square inch is examined by the preservation peiole at the council

This block I live in is listed, dunno what grade, but it took about two years to get the double glazing put in, as it had to be in character of the original 150 year old design

We were forbidden to even strop off paint from skirtings - "part of the journey of the building" they said So have hundreds of extra man hours sanding instead - nightmare

I can sniff out a mini bar at 10 paces, in all the froo froo in there i'd find it and lie on my four poster bed like a ladeee!!! With a gin and tonic.

Do we get rebates cos we are TD members?

Did you pay 70 quid worth of restitution, or do another runner?

Quite like the place actually, except that tartan wallpaper- no wonder the Queen is laughing.

Good idea. Actually any TDers in Bodrum peninsula area who want a day on boat are welcome. Just bring beer

The house is £500 plus vat a night, more at festival times and alot more at Gold Cup. Min 2 nights

Will do it 25% off for TD. The holiday accommodation in Cheltenham should be a good venue for reconnecting with family for a few days when back in UK - we can arrange private chef or have self catering. Cheltenham has got lots of cultural stuff going on - check out http://www.soglos.com/cheltenham-events

PM me if interested with dates. Apologies to mods for gratuitous links.

Here's the mini bar. A Regency wine cooler. It's circa 1810/20. Unusual because it's oak, not mahogany. Inside it's a copper bath with lead liner. Chuck in the ice from the ice machine and all the booze you want. It stays cool for at least 48 hours.
