Posting number limits

Probably wasting my time, but for the record just thought I'd register my objections to this crap about having to have posted a certain number of times - like 100 or, in a case I noted today, 150 - to be able to post to certain threads.
I assume this is either an attempt to weed out the wheat from the chaff, or an attempt to have a little chat area for shy longtermers who want to lick each others' armpits in private (good luck to them I suppose, you know what I mean).
Being a shy and retiring type myself I prefer to watch and rarely feel sufficiently moved to launch my words of wisdom on the world (for which the world is probably grateful). So I'm shut out.
The whole thing is nonsense anyway. Shall I start a bogus thread and post

150 times to get around this silly rule? Or will sense prevail?

you could just join in and become a member fo the community here. Just liek anywhere else, after you've established yourself in a community you get accepted, learn the secret handshake, same as gong to work for new company or moving to a new town.
Why would you even want to be in some inner circle when you've no interest in joining in the fray? What are you a Voyeur? (if you are there are sevral juicy tidbits inside right up your alley)
But, if you'd rather sit on the sidelines and bitch about things...

Or, if you really have nothing to say, just go into the Games Room and play "Change a Letter" all day. That'll get your post count up.

You will find that 90 percent of forums have rooms that are hidden until you get to a certain post count, we just didn't bother hiding ours.

the postcount limits are not really elitist lad. The 100 post count limit in "members only" is to save newbies being scared or bored by slag fests and flamewars and the 150 limit on the trolling section is only in place...because... the forum has enemies who despise our freedom loving ways.

No this place is anti-elitist and egalitarian: we are all scum. There are only two moderators and they are both alcoholics so there is no real heirachy to climb !
