Alright, I had time to kill and fooled around with a website that sizes photos. All along, I assumed that my photos, directly from the camera, were too large for some websites (this one and craigslist come to mind). Before, I fooled around trying to size individual photos and got nowhere. Today, I re-sized files of photos (to 800 by 600) and that seemed to work. So, now I can post one picture per posting (with words). Maybe by this time next year, I can post multiple photos per posting with dialogue. I do appreciate those that tried to help this klutz. Thanks!

I am determined to find out how to open up a thread using pictures I have taken , I have put this off time and time again because of the frustrating and intricate nature of the exercise.
I only have a couple of degrees so I guess that's why I am so mentally challenged and of insufficient intellect to manage this "simple " procedure?
So far this most recent attempt involves watching the video on how to upload BUT the step I can't find an answer to is how to create my own album to draw from?
I have clicked the little house , upload , create, my albums etc. etc and everything else I can see, all to no avail.
I even beleive if I can find out how to create my own album I "might" be able to add my pictures ( already reduced to 650 max ) .
It seems I am not the first or only intellectually challenged who is attempting, or has attempted this exercise ?
Anybody care to offer assistance to the mentally deficient?
I am going back to tutorials now to try again.

It seems like the uploader on TD is alot of headaches. Open an account on Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

You can edit and resize your pics before posting them if you want to. To upload, just click on the Upload button. To post the pic, scroll down to the last line of text, copy and paste the link and voila!

I found this tutorial to be the best when I was learning. Probably the step you are missing is creating a name for the album after you have uploaded the pic.

Is there an initial step to set up a gallery? I cant remember as it was ages ago when I did mine. If there is and the mods let me open another account without being "cujoed" I'd be quite happy to try and put this to bed once and for all.....

The gallery is there under your user name. Don't have to do anything but follow the bouncing ball. I ran into trouble because after the upload I had no "album names". I needed to select "new album", then name before I could place the uploaded pic in the album. Once in the album then simple click on the thumbnail and again on the pic that opens. A new window opens with the full size pic. Right click and "Copy Image Location", then paste in the "insert image" icon on the post box.

Plenty of forums have in built software so an external site isn't required.

I guess it's a matter of choice by the admin.

I prefer less grief and work.

    But that's just me.

Sorry but not everybody uses a PC. I'd just like to make the process simple as it is on sooooo many forums. It's silly to have it be a process of using an external site.

    What's the big deal?

The admin can't make that happen?

I hope they can adjust to make things better for the posters on the board who would like to post photos which are always of interest to forum members.

It's of course up to the admin to make that decision. I'd recommend serious thought be given to making things more easy for posters and eliminate the external issues.

I was just diagnosed with high blood pressure. Between your car dealer problems and this little rant to an almost 4 year old post, I would venture a guess you have it too. The dog is now gone, and the board has done fine over the years without a function so you can post photos from your phone. Best of luck with the photos and a car.

It is easy though less than 30 seconds using photobucket.

Its hardly rocket science. Sorry but ive grown weary of telling people about photo uploads or torrents.
I dunno if they are too fukkin thick or just too idle to go look and take the time to learn.

Its all written on this forum many times over

Go buy a copy of simple pc tasks for dummies

    Was a bit miserable. Sorry

    Here you go

    Download photobucket and register

In Photobucket you will see UPLOAD and MY ALBUMS

Simply click the UPLOAD option and show it where your photo is on your comuter or mobile.

Then it will UPLOAD to your MY ALBUMS folder

Go click on your chosen pic, Then click VIEW LINKS

then just copy all the text in the box labelled IMG

And paste it into where you type your comments on Teakdoor

some people find the Teakdoor gallery a bit unintuitive and hard and it is....

You could try using an image hosting site ,plenty of them like Dillingers says photobucket or
    this guide
Satonic explains the basics in his thread here
https://teakdoor.com/computer-news/11...ng-online.html (A quick 'How to post a photo' using online photo hosting)

On the other hand if you like a challenge you could learn to use Teakdoors gallery as Norton linked earlier ,a tutorial by klongmaster RIP

    https://teakdoor.com/how-to-use-stuff...th-pics-5.html

I might be wrong but I think before you start the very first upload you need to create an album first to be there ready , ie

    1. gallery
    2. hover mouse cursor over the gallery house icon
    3. click on home
    4. create / order my albums
5 .new album and type a name in the box

Seems complicated. Can't we just have a right-click (except right-click is now left-click on my mouse coz I had to swap buttons coz the left-click don't work) and slap file into post?

I don't want an add-on, or a special app. I want a button that someone has gone to the trouble of programming to do all the shite. A bit like a tap. I don't have to carry the water from the river any more.

TBH, it can't be hard, difficult or even time-consuming to write it. Seems pretty simple to me.

But you have Windows, or maybe AppleCrap, you're not typing instructions in DOS.

Simple innit. Computers are about speed, simplicity and efficiency. Why go back to the stone tablet and chisel?
