Why do I keep getting chucked out?

This evening I've been online for about 30 minutes, and I've had to log in to teakdoor five times. Sometimes, just going from one room to another is enough to log me out. Anybody know why? It's a fecking nuisance.

Windows ME
Firefox 1.0.7
Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5
AVG Free Edition 7.1.375

You'll find you are actually logged in but the opening page has changed.

I just click on a thread and it clicks me in.

Or your actually looking at a snapshot of a TeakDoor page from 3 weeks ago and haven't realised yet.

You should have started a poll or at least a thread CMN.
Hopefully some smart cnut will be a long in a jiffy to help you out.

meanwhile check your User CP and see if the 'view signatures' box is checked and if so then check the entry for your sig.

when you login there's a check box next to the username and password fields says something like always log me in or some shit like that check that next time you log in. Enable cookies for this site.

Poolie, that's not it. When I'm in, it says Good Afternoon benbaaa or whatever in the top right corner. Then I go to another thread or room, and suddenly it doesn't say that anymore, it says You are viewing as a Guest. When I try to post it says you must log in first!

Oh you're logging in onthe portal page I 've noticed that happens to me when I use a different browser some times.
login onthe forum index page and check that box. See if that works?

the portal page lies to you when using firefox, you log in and it calls you guest, but you are logged in, on the list of things to sort out or beat to death

Hi DD - I have the same problem using Firefox as Benbaa, and it is permanent. I cannot even post a reply without having to log in again. Practically every time I go to another link on the site I get logged out. And when I log in it says "Thanks, you are now logged in as RDN" and then the screen updates and I'm still a guest!

I've checked everything I can think of in Firefox, my firewall (ZA Pro) and Internet options, but I can find nothing that says block cookies for TeakDoor or anything similar.

If you can suggest anything to check I'd be grateful.

As I last resort, I will try creating and using a new Firefox profile, in case something has got screwed up there.

P.S. Internet Explorer sucks!

RDN, did you visit the mirror site? that will give you a slighly differant cookie, you need to delete that cos it conflicts with the cookie from here.

I just click on the link in the notification email and FF runs, I am logged in, and FF goes straight to the post in the email link. But then when I try to post (by hitting the "Quote" button), I usually have to log in again. I get the message "You are not allowed to reply...." or something like that, and I see I am "Guest" in the top right corner.

But, again (same as Marmite's post above), it worked OK with your post. Maybe DD's done some tweaking?

Yes I did, but I only tried that URL and saw the home page. Then I left. But the problem I WAS having started long before I went there.

BUT, it all seems to be working OK now. Haven't had to log in once! And I swear to God I didn't change anything! So I've replied to 3 posts without any problems. Very strange!

I'll let you know if the problem comes back again.

there has been no tweaking today, I think you finaly checked the stay logged in box

also there is probably an option in your user cp for how long you wish to stay logged in for.
