A captcha aint gonna stop Indian and Nigerian spammers, end of.

Many sites have that as a search function spam fighter. A lot of government sites for real estate property searches have captcha. I probably enter 1 or more silly strings of letters a day.

Exactly ^. For the spammers not a problem one. For the average internet user its a hard thing to get those numbers and letters right. Not only do you not know if they are upper case or lower case in many times. I always like the ones with lots of numbers, those I can read.

If we all see it a mod should. Its that simple, sort of like the mosquito swatters you can easily buy. :) Zap.

Of course, Mid thinks those of us that have a problem reading Captcha are profiting off the TD spamming and possibly the masterminds behind the 911 attacks!! :)

1. TD only has about half a dozen mods.
2. Mods can only delete posts in forums they are assigned to mod.
3. Mods aren't paid and have jobs, family & a life beyond TD (hard to believe for some people I know :))
4. Spammers are useful - send them a red to recharge your repo power. :bunny3:

So the consensuses is

spam is good and there is no need to minimise it .

You don't have to be up late, it's freaking 24/7 at the moment and some of the spam is lasting 24-36 hours.

There's a really simple solution there, I'm sure there is... Maybe take away their families?

Hmmm, no but be something else...

How about double the freaking now of mods and double the number of rooms they mod.

I think I missed a lot of it as it was hidden by real posts during heavy traffic times.

I saw a couple spammers, but nothing like I have seen since midnight. :spam:

Now the spammers are hiding the real users.

I reckon mid might be into something with his gotcha thingy.

there must be a softaware program out there, maybe the spammers sell it on vBulletin to stop the spammers.
