Well the pool project seems to be progressing as are the odd cracks about barbed wire

And Backspit. Intex above ground pools are absolute crap and fall apart in just a few years. They are cheap for a reason.

That one is a mango, to the left of it is a mini guava. We have two mango trees, they produce like crazy for a month or two. One is a variety that produces large and slight tart mangoes, the other fibrous but very sweet mangoes.

Yeah, who ever though a simple swimming pool construction thread would attract all this angst?

A $3000-$5000 Intex pool will go a hell of a lot further than a $300 special at Walmart is all that I was saying. Provided competent adults assemble and maintain it. My cousins had a big one in the 90's and they got a lot of miles out of it.

The guy who did the "eco/natural" pool was Russian or eastern European, he got into the political threads and flounced.

You need it or not. Hopefully you are enjoying nice weather.
To be fair, Tax is partially correct. Most of Southern Africa (Zim, Zam, Malawi, Botswana, & Angola) is in the middle of a large drought. However, NASA are predicting relief later this year and next.

Although there may be no relief on the horizon for crop production in the near term, next year may have more favorable conditions. The April
ENSO forecast indicates that there is an 85 percent likelihood of a La Niña developing in late 2024 and early 2025, which is often associated with above-normal precipitation and normal or above-normal maize yields in southern Africa

The is a significant Chinese population in most southern African countries, and that means Chinese businesses, Chinese NGOs, China town markets, Chinese casinos and Chinese restaurants. Might be an idea for a thread, but not sure if I can be bothered with the inevitable ‘fucking chinks at it again’ brigade.

    its gasworks park, seattle.

only you americans could use the ugly rusting hulk of an abandoned gasworks as the main feature of a city park.

that lake must have more chemical seepage in it than the 3rd world water in willys paddling pool.

That has not been a functional gasworks in decades. There are no pollution issues in that lake at all, nice try though, and the water in that lake is snow melt that comes directly off the Cascade mountain range. About as clean as it gets.
