I love having ours and the ones I had in the US at our homes, I have some absolutely great memories of teaching my daughters and nephew and nieces how to swim and the crazy shit my nephews would do as I sat grilling up lunch or dinner. Crazy ass 8 year old boys and a diving board. Surprised they survived same as me.

Here it's more of a relaxing area and then folks come over and more little ones learn how to swim. One thing about Thailand, you can basically swim year round.

That is amazing! So many great memories . It is great that you can swim year round for sure. I have sooo many memories around pools. My grandmother had an above ground pool and she taught me to swim as a young girl with my hands wrapped around her neck. I'd just hang around her neck and she'd swim front crawl around our small pool in circles. As an adult my dad would have pool parties with bbq's, drinks, guitars and singing. The good old days I guess.

It is a saltwater based system.

I love these saltwater pools. Once you get used to them, it is hard to go back to chlorinated ones.

Thailand has an underground pipe network from the gulf of Thailand that pipes natural saltwater around the country for such purposes.

The system has a standard filter process but what's called a Chlorinator so you just add salt to the pool water by volume and keep that at about 2800 to 3200 ppm and the system does the rest. Super efficient and very low chemical cost and maintenance. A bag of salt here is about 110 bht. I use 1 every 2 or 3 months.

Unlike the old days when white people just stuck the Union Flag in the ground and named parts of Africa Northern Rhodesia, I feel confident the poster has all the relevant paperwork.These days all Rhodes lead to Zambia.

Many Australian pools are safely fenced to prevent drownings.I am sure a well educated man will prep in relation to the swimming ability of the guests.

I don't know about Zambia, but pretty sure Thailand has no regulations... surprisingly enough.

Our pool is quarantined off with safety fence and self- locking gate, more for my peace of mind for when the half-witted outlaws turn up with their latest array of non-swimming, feral progeny. I make myself scarce on such occasions but at least I am safe in the knowledge that I have privided a safe environment, even if the first thing they do is prop the gate open.

I do find it useful to have a segregated pool, many pets drown and despite our dogs (apart from Maya) having no interest in the pool, it would be easy for one to fall in during playing/fighting. Hence my annual refresher courses to remind them where the steps are.

I'm sure KW's wall and razor wire should prevent unwanted guests, and for more personal security most adults watch kids at a pool. I must admit though, that a secured pool has made life a lot easier when the daughter was younger.

And doubles as a place where you dry your laundry.

US has the same safety requirements for a fence around pools with locking gate. Now some insurance companies will not insure your house if you have a pool because they consider them "An Attracting Nuisance" meaning if anyone jumped over your yard fence then opened the gate and went in and drowned it was the owners fault.

Here...perfect... no regulations. The inlaws and guests that come over, if they don't know how to swim, they stay away as they are afraid so no worries

Only thing I randomly fish out of the pool are big King Scorpions and Toads.

When mine was first built I had fences galore but after 6 months or so it was apparent that the kids had taught themselves to swim. I took the fences down.but if random kids turned up either me or Mrs bld would supervise..would never let them swim alone

I enjoyed swimming all my life in my dad's pool, but he got rid of it a few years back as he is getting too old to take care of it (single guy).

It doesn’t look like much as changed, but my project manager says progress is on track.

i trust you have arranged with the contactor that the labourers working on your property will be paid a decent and fair wage for their toils, and not taken advantage of, as is often the case in poorly regulated countries where workers with no union representation are often taken advantage of by both unscrupulous employers and the project customers looking for the cheapest costs with little thought to the lives and needs of those doing the hard work.
