    Costa Rica

I went to Costa Rica in the summer (my TEFLtastic employer owed me some flights as part of my contract, so I thought I would use them in Central America rather than enduring the Covid chaos at home).

I generally see life through a "glass half full" perspective anyway, but, mi dio this was the best country I've ever visited by far. It had everything if you're a wildlife fan, which I am, as well as being pretty safe for the region.

    A sloth

One of the remotest places on earth, according to Nat Geo, but the captain of the boat wasn't concerned when we broke down off the coast (and his missus was flashing her tits anyway).

    It reminded me of Thailand.

    But with parrots flying overhead

    Lots more to come.

    ^^cheers. Thanks for the pics.

I've watched the videos of Gabriel Traveler on YT when he went to CR (last year?) . He saw a sloth crossing the road (it was indeed slow!) and I think he also saw a "coati" (?). First time that I've seen that animal, even in vids. He did say that it was a bit more costly than other Lat-Am countries.

Looking forward to more pics & stories.

They were a bit like fried eggs (purely for research purposes I was assessing them), and I've probably got bigger tits after my Christmas splurge.

I've found this latest pic of a tit though, just for you

I must have seen about 20 sloths. No shit. I'm not even sure that the photo in the OP is of that sloth!

On my last day there, I went to the hot springs and sat getting pissed in a pool bar with an American fella joking about this. Me and him were 3 sheets to the wind, ordering beers and pizzas, while people were still looking for bloody sloths!

Mate, it reminded me of Thailand so much in terms of the scenery etc and there were loads of yanks there, but the good type as you went further down the coast (Jaco is the Pattaya of CR and there were dicks there of any nationality) and they were all really helpful. Apart from SE Asia, it's the only place I've been to that I'd like to live in.

    Cheers twat!

Got a colleague from Costa Rica who reckons the beaches are the best in the world.
    Obviously not visited Australia.
    Cool thread.

And, as if to prove my point, that's a picture of a fucking monkey in my OP!

Here's one of the many actual sloths we saw:

He's never been to Thailand then.

The beaches weren't that great, Chits.

The country and its wildlife is fucking immense though.

That was my impression when I was there in 2019. Food and drink were a higher price than neighbouring Panamá.

Still, quite an attractive country, at least the small slice I saw.

    European prices for hotels.

Food and drink wasn't so bad if you go local from time to time, and public transport was mostly the same as the rest of Central/Latin America, but for hotels you're looking at 30 to 40 quid a night at least.

I was in Pavones. That place doesn't exactly have a superhighway to get there. Trust me, local is all they had.

    Sí, puedo hablar español.

Yeah, minibus from David to the border. There's a biggish duty free there called Jerusalem Mall. I didn't give it much thought until I heard the call to prayer. All these pictures of mosques and stuff suddenly made sense. I didn't expect that though in muy católico Latín America.
    pues, estamos aqui

The food was certainly local - beans and rice feature at almost every meal. It was good, but in my opinion México does it a bit better.

Pavones has a fantastic left hander. It takes some effort to get to Pavones so it isn't as crowded like famous breaks in Hawaii and Australia.

Sorry Hal. I shouldn't hijack your thread.
