    Cabin Fever.

So as a cure I figured I'd give the old shoes a kick around the block.

I headed west through the woods. A nice sunny day and I had finished plowing snow off the drive. I had some time to kill when I look upon the back wall and saw the shoes calling my name.

    fish....fish.. fish.

From the ridge I spied the pond below. Lots of saplings, now that looked like fun.

I made it down to the pond only to see see she was opening up on the western shore. Typical that they open east and west this time of year as the sun works it's majic.

Too bad as I wanted to do a little fishing and this was easy access when carrying gear.

No getting out there from here now. Typical of small ponds in spring. You need the big deep holes to keep their ice.

Snow like ice has it's strengths and weaknesses. I meant pros and cons. I pressed on up a draw and looked back from hence I came.

I traveled far enough west and wanted to get back on the ice, but first I had to play a little limbo.

Back on the ice I figured I'd make some time and head east.

As I rounded a peninsula and saw this old tree I thought of Robbin Trower's Bridge of Sighs.
    Life's is so unforgiving.
    Life's is so cold.
It's been a long time crossing the Bridge of Sighs.

Looking back I figured It best to stick close to it as I went around. A dead tree is better than no tree if the ice opens up.

And so I made my way around her. These trees like the earth act as wicks wherein the sunlight sucks the cold out of the ice.

As I made my way around her I could see the south shoreline opening up at the bank.
Then I thought, nobody knowns where you are. How near or how far.
No worries, If I never make it back she might find someone smart enough to follow the trax. Silly me, she wouldn't even think to look untill it got dark out.

Note to self, let her know next time I go off trecking.

I thought now this is an adventure. No worries, the snow shoes will distribute the weight. If I go through it could get interesting. I've fallen through pleanty of times but never with snow shoes on. That could be interesting.

Not to worry I know it's not very deep here so on I go.

Now if only I could get off the ice here I could make my way back to there.

Well I wasn't out of the woods yet though I did stop taking pics. Been there, done that ect.

Anyway, hope you liked the cure for cabin fever thread.

I don't know wich was more painfull.
    Doing the treck, na.
    Doing the thread, so so.
Or the fever itself, na. It's all good.

Thanks for the trip report, Fish. Glad you made it back alive. Did you see any big fish on your travels? Perhaps you could conjur up something like these next time.
