    Norway trip

A batch of pics of a recent visit to friends in Kristiansund, Norway. One of the most beautiful countries in the world and certainly one of the most expensive.

Flight Dublin to Oslo with SAS, hired a car, and 8 hour drive to Kristainsund on the extreme west coast.
Breathtaking scenery and would have liked to take more pics but E6 etc for the whole journey was a two lane undivided road with no hard shoulder, so no where safe to pull over.

Booked online ...3 nights $450 including breakfast.

    ....our hired car, VW Polo,auto

The city of Kristiansund on the west coast of Norway has a population (2013) of 18,002.

    Note the snow marker...

Kristiansund Airport....waiting to board for Oslo.

Food was good ....in Kristainsund...2 Chineese restaurants, one Thai restaurant and a Thai massage and would you believe an Irish bar. Town tends to cater for Oil rig crews.

Good to experience and get to know the local culture when on holiday.

Norway is notoriously expensive for "grog"

    Beer (pint)average £10-11.

bottle of wine £29 ( cheapest off sales).

And she's desperately in need of a shadow. Looks like a photoshoppy jobby.

In 1990 I hired a car and just drove around Sweden and into Norway for a week.
Great scenery and like Kev says there's never any hard shoulders or lay-bys to pull up to enjoy the view. When there is a lay-by it's guaranteed the view is obstructed by trees.

I even got to chase a moose through a hilly forest one time. A dangerous thing to do as later I discovered it was moose-hunting season. The country-side often made me think of Canada.
