    Island Hopping.

I am planning a commonwealth trip in the near future, Oz, NZ and Canada. I will travel alone as a scummy backpacker and would like to do some Island hopping in between the main destinations.
Looking for recommendations for suitable trips bearing in mind simple visa requirements, air travel and members interesting anecdotes.

    TIA

If you’re on Vancouver Island (mid June) we’ll be there. We’ll have a large Zodiac (with captain) for a couple days.

    Great idea Chas.

Make sure to speak in your best Queens English, and perhaps take your old swagger stick along to prod the locals with.

So I have heard. Always wanted to see it before the loggers turn it into prairie.
Does Oz still own it or did the Dutch sneak it back?

It has been on the market for a while but as yet no one is interested.

Too many fools in Australia who vote green now so no chance of the loggers stripping the place bare.

    Well worth a visit.

Vanuatu, Samoa, and French Polynesia [recommend the Marquesas]

Though, the latter is a bit distant, one can still make a lovely round-robin tour.

Do you happen to know if French Polynesia does visa on arrival. This will be a long trip over 2/3 months and I need to keep the logistic simple.

Cheers Dave. I'm a bit wary of the US for this trip due to the complexity of advance booking and visa issues. It needs it own trip to be fair and really I want to cross Canada this time around. Friends in Medicine Hat.

Let's see.....I believe the requirements haven't changed for quite a time now.

For British and other Commonwealth [except Canadian] passport holders, you can receive an on arrival 90-day "tourist" visa [for every six months] without any problems. No fee or very nominal for this entry visa.

Thanks for the suggestion Si. That's not too far from my final destination.
I am hurtling along on the back of two fag packets at the moment. Keep being interrupted by the woman and other travel.

the thought of hurtling along on some fag's packet doesn't sound much fun
