    Bad Luck Good Luck

Bad luck: I dunked a choc chip cookie in a mug of mint tea just now and it broke off and there are lots of bits of soggy bisuit swirling in the mug. I haven't done that for years.

Good luck: A few days ago there was a storm and some large branches ended up in the pool. I was trying to pull one out and I fell backwards on my arse, landing on a rusty metal spike sticking 3 inches out of the ground. It ripped a hole in my shorts and tore the skin on my right but-tock. The good news is that it was not 3 inches to the left and so did not cause horrific and untold damage to my delicate ring piece which would have almost certainly required hideously embarrassing and possibly newsworthy attention at the local A&E.

I can remember playing cricket when I was in my early teens and one of the girls with us tried to leap-frog the stumps...very messy indeed.

a mid-dunk breakage is indeed a distressing and embarassing event, especially if you had company at the time.

but chocolate chip/peppermint tea dunkage is best left to the experts, perhaps you should consider some re-training on a digestive or hob-nob and milk tea regime where the absorbance quotients are easier to calculate and estimation of maximum distortion angles is achieved visually.

    good luck.

I sense a pattern developing here.
Way too many things seem to "accidently" find their way into liquids around your person. Has the term serial drowner been bandied around much in your presence Looper?

Both appear to be stories of bad luck.

It is supposed to be a thread where you can post tales of ill and good fortune.

^It is true that being stabbed in the arsecheek with a rusty spike doesn't sound all that great but a glass is half full person will recognise and celebrate the narrow avoidance of a far worse fate.
