Has G W Bush shown remorse yet? They both think they were right in what they did including the old torture bit.Quote:

Compare the country when he took over to where it ended up, prior to the destruction by the crusader coalition.
He died, in battle, against his enemies. When was the last time a government leader died in the field of battle? When was the last time a government leader actually went to a hot battle field?
Martyrs songs/tales are made of such things.
Remember the Alamo, The charge of the light brigade, the french version of Waterloo, The german version of the Battle of the Bulge, Drake and The Spanish Armada. My Kingdom for a Horse. Robert the Bruce, Guy Fawkes, The American War.
^He was murdering scum, cowering in a sewer pipe from which he was dragged and then executed by his own people. A real hero.........
When it comes to leaders foreign or domestic, this is quite acceptable when their time is due.
He didn't go to battle. He fled from the capital to Sirte, when Tripoli was freed. The war he had started against his people followed him there. He was killed in a failed attempt to flee again.Quote:

It was good for the country. They can close that chapter now and don't have to deal with it in some trial. I saw a number of interviews on AlJazeera yesterday and everybody asked thought of this better than a trial.
Those who do have a job certainly will.Quote:

When you commit crimes as he did in my opinion you have lost your right to be treated as some may say fairly.
Would it not have been better, to have him captured, tried, and sentenced? After all, isnt that what "civilised" countries with a democracy do?
Hiring mercenaries to kill his own people was a huge error of judgement on his part and it became impossible for him to return to power mainly due to retribution issues.
Gaddifi had the option of handing over power to the rebels and leaving the country and thus minimising further killing. By not doing so he signed his own death certificate.
He will be remembered in the west for his alleged participation in many acts of terrorism around the world. Nothing more.
^^Libya is neither civilized, nor a democracy.
Davis beat me to it.
he was a complete nutter, certainly amusing, and courageous when he had the power, but at the end the crowd got him, kind of poetic justice actuallyQuote:

One can always hope, but history doesn't prove it out.
I was hoping to see him in court and someone throw a shoe at him.
He must have been bummed to see someone run off with that gold hand gun.....
I was seriously hoping it was going to be Tony Blair :)
He bought the ticket so he had to take the ride!
Or put in a different way Som Naam Na!!!
