New Thai Word: Sideline Aka Freelance.

A bird taught me how to non aggressively ask if a girl is on the game.

According to her, "Do you sideline?" is much much better than "are you freelancing or a prostitute?"

    KHUN TAM SIDELINE, ROO PLOW?"
Which translates to roughly to "do you work sideline, yes or no?"

I've had 2 ex BG get pissed as I didn't ask this simple question beforehand.

Live and learn. Ask if they 'smoke' and you will get a indication of their ignorance, nativity, or if they are on the game. Boom boom ? also seems to be a good start up conversation. These are lines the big boys (not girls) told me about.

What have you done for this forum (which receives so few posts) lately? Did anyone have anything but positive when you asked about losing weight or DVD/torrents? You're an asshole.

^I feel quite honored now, I must have touched a nerve.

Impact, yes I have asked for advice on certain occasions and some members have been kind enough to respond.
What I haven't done is make inane posts full of drivel about stuff that 99.9% of posters don't give a shit about.
But hey, it's your free time, up to you how you want to spend it.

I would've thought 'Khun tam ngan pee set chai plow' might be more understood...especially on building sites.

Filipinos are past masters at rewording. Hookers became 'dancers', then 'hostesses' and eventually evolved into my favorite 'GRO's (Guest Relations Officers). Now the Filipino government has reinvented them all as 'trafficked and exploited victims in the worldwide sex trade'. No matter that the last 'victims' they rescued from Angeles City nightspots are pictured in the news reports fighting with and kicking and biting the police 'rescuers'. Oh well, as long as the Flips keep the USG happy......

More like 'do you do any extra/special work?'

The Thai word for over time is actually 'over time' or more commonly 'O'..bladdy thieves.

I met one bird who told me she was head of marketing and she even had a business card, that was at Fantasia in Phuket town.

If the 'sideline' euphemism is enough to encourage more hard-up students to become de-facto prostitutes, then its got to be a good thing.
