    Procrastination

I'm supposed to be doing something else, but I'm doing this instead, when I finish this I'm going to find something else to do instead of the thing I should be doing, what I should be doing is infinitely more important and certainly more rewarding this, but I should have started what I should be doing hours ago and I didn't... of course I will do what I really should be doing, but I'll leave it until last minute when I don't have any time left to do it, but that is still hours away...

I think knowing there's something I should be doing makes me not want to do it.

    Ah. My topic at last.

Upstairs I've got a book on how to cure procrastination but I haven't read it yet.

What Knobski should be doing is looking for a job. A man in his 30's who has never held down a job for longer than a month. Break the cycle of generations, Knobski. It doesn't have to be this way.

I probably earned more in the last 6 months than you did in the last year Noodles and I won't work again for at least the next 6 months.
In the meantime I'll continue with my degree and enjoy my leisure time to the full. I don't have to work. It's a good life.

So anyway, define 'proper job'... something like your own perhaps?

^I'm sure I pay more rent every month on my apartment in Bangers than you earn in a month, Knobski.

Oh, and I'm my own boss. I don't work for anyone. Now get back down the job centre you sponger.

I've been doing exactly that for the last 2 years and it is my New Years resolution to mend my ways.

It's bloody hard though but I need to finish the things I started.

As much as that.!? Why you would need 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms when you're a Jaffa I don't understand,
well it's only money I guess and what price the HiSo lifestyle, and you never know when your friend might come and stay for a little while.

I'm a nonchalant procrastinator. Makes it easier.

Is there a difference between procrasinating and just not wanting to do something?

I only use this netbook for surfing, the laptop is where all the important stuff gets done. The laptop has been switched on for a couple of hours, but I keep walking past it. I know there's nothing on here that I haven't already seen, it's raining outside and I really should get on with some work, I'll just have another cup of tea first.

Procrastination involves (for some people) 2 things (and more for some people):

    1. a habit (laziness)

    2. a defense mechanism.

I too, have procrastination issues. I'll try to deal with them tomorrow.
