Why not just get another domain name and put all the "family friendly" stuff on there (and watch it slowly die because that market's already catered for); and leave all the "bull shit" stuff on the old domain (preferably hosted in the US to benefit from their constitution).

That would be common sense.

What's prompted this all of a sudden anyway? It's bit late in the game isn't it.

Some of you really have no understanding of the internet, ok tomorrow we ban all members, 4 to 500 log in every day, some post some dont, so we have no new posts because they are all banned, everyday we get 15,000 to 30,000 guests, they cannot post and just choose to read, these are unique guests, ie first visit, think about it.

You know what I mean. I meant the "impending demise"... if you start saying that TD is just going to be like TV, except, dark blue, it's going to gradually fade if it's trying to be more or less the same as TV. Most people come here for an alternative to TV.

ThaiVisa (and other forums about other things) can cite stats that show how "alive" and "popular" they are; yet they're still shit.

Are not just reading into these stats what you want to see? "Unique Users" are just specific to particular browsers on particular computers, they are not people, and there are any number of reasons why they may appear on your stats - ranging from the very simple (switching browser because one crashes; or logging on at work or at hotspot, as well as at home); to more arcane reasons. Don't get carried away with it!
Try tying page views to accounts if you want a more credible measure. Whatever system you use, if you don't use your metric properly or understand the factors that can distort it, it's worthless.

So yes, some of you really do have no understanding about how the internet works.

The top half of the forum has got some great sub-forums and in them some great info. The choice of topics is far broader than anything you will find on TV, also the language is allowed to be colourful and criticism is generally accepted. That's what makes it good, that's why more people are choosing to use TeakDoor.

There is however a few morons that just don't quite get it and think it's ok to flame and spoil threads, that is who the guidelines are aimed at.

Teakdoor is still Anarchic and there are plenty of sub-forums in the lower half to vent your spleen in. It seems to me that over time the bullies and shitslingers that used to thrive on TeakDoor have been edged out and in their place are some intelligent and open minded members that expect a better experience in return for contributing to it's growth. The power of the crowd wins over, Anarchism at it's best.

So, if you're not a moron, you don't have anything to worry about.

Thre are threads started in News and Issues sections that contain provocative subjects (in many cases, they are posted only to be provocative- the actual subject matter means nothing- the OP is looking to take a shot at other posters rather than discuss anyhing related to the actual 'topic')- as long as this goes on, things will devolve into monkey shit-fights- there are mods who are as guilty of this as anyone else- will rules be enforced equally?

It's true that a lot have gone, there are still some long lasting idiots hanging in there though. Not so sure about intelligent and open minded, more just polite I think. Bring back Miggins I say.
