    Most of these type negative, petty threads are a direct result of a serious lack of fiber in a jealous persons diet.

    Yes, it's our fault your country is now (by percentage) the fattest on Earth.

    Did we invent cheapness as well, you tight Aussie bastard? Bitching about a few hundred baht for a pizza pan in a thread in "The Kitchen"...

    The last time you opened your wallet Andrew Barton Patterson probably blinked at the light.
    There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

    Groucho Marx, Woody Allen, George Carlin, Bill Maher, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld etc.
    And
    Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Joseph Stella, James Rosenquist.
    But you probably haven't heard of them.

    To list a few of the things that I really love about the US:

    * Twinkies. (I still have three people sending me a box of Twinkies every second month)

    * The best friend anyone could ever have (Hello Michael!). Worked for him twice, with him twice and have been solid friends for close to 20 years

    * Blue Jeans

    There are far too many negatives to list and it gets a bit old to do so.

    I would like to thank the people of America and all those directly involved in the production of this masterpiece.
    I was around 11 years old when I encountered my first "trouser arouser" due to this splendid slice of TV magic.
    Again my cousins from across the pond. I thank you for......................

    Defeated Facism or saved us from Communism or installed Capitalism..?, they certainly played their part and saved Europe from a fate worse than death, that is without a doubt, but the motivation is far more complex than the postscript. I would suggest reading The Spanish Civil War by Beevor, WWII as we know it may well be recorded as starting on September 1st 1939 but the precursor of of WWII, it's battle lines, allegiences, politics and tactics were drawn from the Spanish conflict. It is one of the most treacherous episodes in our history, which without a doubt is why it is so overlooked on our curriculum. History is written by the victor.
