Did you send the pictures taken to Pa Haa, Chiang Mai Provincial Police HQ or to Sankhampaeng Police Station? Now, that would be funny...

^I Didn't do anything further. They never came back. It isn't a good idea to push things too far, those were real police and they could make serious trouble if we push too far, as it is I'm happy enough with the results we got. I did phone up the main licensing organisation, they said that they never send out people on unannounced raids and they have never heard of a raid that was anything other than a shakedown.

    Talking The Shakedown

That story IS funny. I have a suggestion. Why don't you put the pictures you took on this forum and perhaps on other forums here in Thailand. It would really help other farangs to know what this scum looks like. You might also send the photos along to the police; it is probably useless, but at least you tried. You know, Utube is another option. Your story and pictures would be entertaining and informative as well.

I'm new here in Thailand and have not experienced what happened in your case, but I've gotten a real snoot full of graft and corruption in other ways. Has anyone heard of the limestone mining that is being done in Thap Prik? Some company got licenses to take down a local karst (mountain) and sell the stone. Theoretically these mountains belong to all the people of Thailand and cannot be owned or destroyed. It is a big operation and it is right across the road where I built a house. Except that there is little traffic, I could be living in New York City for all the noise and sometimes when they dynamite, I could be living in Iraq--the whole damn house shakes and my ears ring afterward. The local Tambon Chief and some residents have been trying to stop it, but officials higher up just just mumble that they are sorry, point their fingers at someone else and delay doing anything at all. Pretty soon they will be able to stop delaying, because this whole mountain will fall down. But what happens to the other beautiful mountains? If you have any interest, there is a website. Just google SOS Krabi. Thanks

    DrBob,
Great work from your petite fighter.
Why not follow up with the police station and tell them that some criminals are masquerading as cop from their station?

Great story DrB0b, the thought of your missus giving the Police a tounge lashing and sending them scurrying off like frightened school boys caught scrumping gave me a giggle.

Only in Thailand would the rural masses fight for justice supported by a police force so corrupt this word doesn't even come close to describing them and their actions; and demand equality by asking for the return of billions to a corrupt politician businessman. Kwai daeng.
