Bear in mind the above price is based on a US$1,712/oz price. The close will probably be around US$1,720 which suggests the price will rise 100BHAT on the 1st Nov.

Good to see you back in amongst it Butters must be back on yer meds eh

We've been over this, it's clearly been established that you are incapable of agreeing to reasonable terms. It's dudes like you that have created such an over-regulated society. This is why you always have been and always will be a regurgitating corporate slave. A 'theorist' is you will.

I'm sorry Butters but your attempt at extorting money over the internet has failed. Thai women put you to shame.

And who said anything about coke? Real men drink beer, know how to cut a fair deal without red tape and anal semantics, and are somewhat more dignified than those of Butter's ilk who will jab guys much younger than him for being sensible about what they put at risk.

As far as you wanting to flop out cocks about bet size, being scared, etc, I have several sites open right now waiting for a sucker to come and play headsup. Any game, any stake. Not that you could afford a game that would interest me but 1K US is a start

And yeah I'd never bet with you for any size, Butters, unless it involved funded accounts or escrow. You're simply not the sort of guy with the moral aptitude worthy of extending credit. At least I know if Socal loses he will honour the bet.

Here you are Butters, more "speculative" charts to ponder.

    Qbamco - It's Time

My take from the article is that it's not the Evil Empire holding the price down but the "Asians". They have already acknowledged their US$ holdings are a pile of crap and are the ones holding the price down by swapping them for cheaper physical gold.

They create the cheaper gold by selling paper gold on the ETFs using their US$ at a loss; and buying the cheaper, and taking delivery of, the physical gold, again with US$.

They believe the hit every time is worth taking.. If it costs them US$10 an ounce every time, it's only a 0.6% loss. Much less than the ongoing loss in value of the US$ and maybe even a profit if the US$ moves in their favour.

    The graph rational:

"Is it worthwhile to make such a speculation? We published two graphs on the following page. The first is a time series of spot gold and our Shadow Gold Price (SGP) from 1973 to November 30, 2012. (The SGP uses the Bretton Woods monetary calculation for valuing the fixed exchange rate linking gold to the US dollar – Base Money divided by US official gold holdings.)"

As the lower graph shows, since the US dollar has been baseless with a floating exchange rate, there has been significant base money creation, with the vast majority of it coming following the 2008 credit event. The SGP implies the level where spot gold would trade if the purchasing power of base money were held constant. The gap separating the SGP from spot gold indicates the implicit arbitrage representing already reduced implicit purchasing power from holding US dollars vis-à-vis the potential gain of purchasing power from holding spot gold now.

The upper graph extends the same graph consistent with the most recent Fed announcement of the newly announced debt monetization levels ($85 billion per month through June 2015):

I may, of course , be totally idiotic.

testing a new Market Timing service, much more promising and robust

the previous one I was testing turned out to be miserable so it was all hype as usual and not investable even though I did put some money into it for a better appraisal

lost was about 10% over 6 months, despite some interesting peak around 15%, service wasn't stable

Is anyone else using this platform? They have an app on i pad and i phone.

Transaction charges are 0,5% each way

Advice please. I want to win this one!

AS the world tries to devalue there money and does quantative easing( just printing money reduces value of old money) why did a 1965 chevy cost 3000. and today is
30,000. because of going off gold standard and China will bring back some gold maybe oil etc to back their money and US dollar will crash. nobody wants US bonds now, selling just 60 % of bonds at the daily auctions now and the Feds just give the treasury a IOU. haha wont last long . All over but the crying.

You are buying an account which indicates electronically that the company holds your money backed by bullion reserves. The agreement is audited by a second company which will let you know what to do only if the company goes bankrupt. If the bankruptcy trustee determines there is not money you will receive no money, it's not a bank covered by government insurance.

Your £15k is backed by an alleged thin slice of a 40 ounce bar. There are fees for storage and delivery of physical gold.

The operation looks to be designed for long term bulls, those that believe the value of their investment will rise over time. Which for the past years has happened.

If you want to "trade" it appears there is a transaction charge, as well as a time delay to receive your cash. One day to receive, four days to buy.

If that is what you want, get in there. If you want to trade actively, more often, there are other alternatives.

the only way to trade Gold in speculative terms is to use Futures, and since the price of Futures are based on current Spots, all kind of funny possibilities are available

On what price other than spot would you expect futures prices to be based upon?
