    Hit $1388 today.

I wonder how butterfly is doing with that short position.... Probably as well as that short position at $980, $1180 and $1280.

I have carried on buying gold coins, keeping perhaps 20% of my personel savings in gold. I cannot pretend to understand world economics but trends and seasons for gold make for good gains. Master Cool, i belive is like me, someone who keeps a little spare money to dabble, he must surely be in profit now and has the option to get out.
I have an interest in a precious metals company with my son but do not confuse our business dealings with my savings.

All the fools are buying US dollars right now, that is what you short.

Your 1000 short will be just as big of loser as your 2000 short.

finally another person on the forum that actually owns some gold. That makes 3 of us. Meanwhile, it would not surprise me if every person over the age of 30 on this forum owns some bonds.

Wrap it up as an unappetizing dish , like bean sprout curd packaging, and put it in the freezer.

    * Not a good idea for those married to Thais

That's pretty much the info I've seen after the past hour or so on google.

Will begin with either one or two 2 baht bars.

Amazing to see how minute they are. A 5 baht bar:

the problem with your plan is that your gold could be stolen

hence your return would be -100%
This is being considered, will be either well hidden in my apartment and checked everynight, or be in a safety deposit box if I can get one.

No its not. People said that when it was $700. You have no idea, fiat currencies like the US dollar are going down, gold is not necessarily going up.

I just traded some fiat scrap for a Kg of silver today.
Yes my friend warned me about this too, it isn't gold going up but dollar coming down ..

My instincts say land. Arable land. Arable land with water.

Which means not Thailand, can't own , no rights and that could decrease.

I would not invest in Bangkok Condos, isn't that flooded with unsold units now?

Bangkok is also as susceptible to hurricanes as New Orleans. As Irrawaddy.

I wished I would of brought a lot of Aussie dollars 18 months ago as I would of made over 30% on the turnover if sold today.

Lost 600b and I haven't even had me breakie yet.

Still up a massive, awe inspiring 800b overall though.

whatever you do, don't buy more on an up trend, that's how you get fucked

buy more when it's below your last buy price

Just a healthy correction to shake out some weak speculators and technical traders. I actually made a 30% gain on one of my jr gold exploration stocks today.Symbol PEZ on the Toronto stock exchange.

Its funny, even guys like you that have made money on gold are bearish. Everyone is bearish on gold.

Thats a good way of missing out on cheaper prices. Buy on days like today. The last pile of gold i bought this summer was the most expensive yet, I have never bought closer to an all time high but I also never got more appreciation so soon either. (But I know why gold is going up) BTW, you are the one getting fucked by holding US dollars and bonds right now.

The best time to buy is comex option expiration days at the end of each month(usually the 26th), that is when the big banks like JP Morgan manipulate the market by flooding it will shorts. They have a dollar to protect.

Master Cool, you are holding physical gold and so when it drops you havent lost any money as you decided not to sell at the peaks.
You have had your opportunity to make profits but decided to stay in the game.
Carry on buying in the dips and good luck.
You will certainly get better returns than gambling at the bookies !

Not too interested in either selling it in peaks or buying more in dips to be honest. Have it chucked in the back of a cupboard where it will probably stay until I find it again in 30 years or so and think 'Wha da fuk is this?'.

If I had bought 10 baht's worth I might care a bit more, but really it's just a bit of playing with cash I had in me pocket really.
