Thread: Calling immigration to report farang scums

There is a house in my mooban that looks quite dodgy, they are renters, and there is a constant flow of "dodgy" farangs coming in and out of that place, never the same people.

I am suspecting it's either a crackhouse, or a boiler room or a sect or worse an underground English teacher training school. Sometimes I see young kids hanging around. The house is cleared every night, nobody is staying there, it's definitely used as some kind of meeting point or office, which would be illegal in our residential mooban. Someone the other day overheard one of the Thai lady working there saying something about them doing something illegal, money laundering or some other non-sense, and a number of them needed to "move around" all the time, never staying in one place too long. That would definitely fit the pattern of the "official renter", as he can't be seen for weeks sometimes.

I would like to call the local police as I am in good terms with them, but I know they are not going to bother showing up, too lazy or maybe they will. I hate farangs scums like that, they give us a bad image and they need to be chased down out of this place. The other option is to call immigration, more extreme, but at least they will show promptly.

so what should I do ? ignore it or call the pigs to chase the scammers away

If you call the police, they will call immigration anyway as immigration offenses are out of their jurisdiction- all they would do is collect a little "tea money".

I am quite surprised how the rich Thai in the mooban are being so tolerant with those. Don't think they actually realize who they are, too busy working from 7am to 8pm

I asked my office manager to call immigration once on a guy who did a runner on a deposit I gave him to teach English to my staff.

Perhaps it is better you move out? If money is involved, the police will be on commission. Those are the ones who will organise the hit on you.

We had the same problem in our block. People started using their residential units as offices. When it got to the point of them sticking company signs on their front doors, we contacted our corporate body that oversees the property and appoints the administrative staff, and they initiated the crackdown.

they are renters, fuck them, they move out.

They keep quite a low profile, avoid all eye contact, above all with me when I stare at them. I could slip a polite note and they might get the message and move out pronto.

Thanks, you convinced me I should take this issue by the horn and report them directly to the immigration, I bet those scums are working without a work permit.

The house next door to me was rented repeatedly to an assortment of slimy people. It got to the point where I was finding needles and tie off rags in the street in front of my house. I went to the local police chief and explained the problem. I paid him 700 baht to solve the problem once and for all. That did the trick. The next day those tenants were gone. Turns out the house didn't even belong to the person who was renting it out. The bank reclaimed the house shortly afterwards and sold it to a nice family.

I thought I had left behind nosy and interfering neighbours when I left the UK. It seems you can take the small-minded petty knob out of Europe but you can't take Europe out of the knob.

I don't want drug dealers in the mooban, that's all, and certainly no "boiler room" type either, it's a question of principles and risks

I guess for some living in the gutter is like mud for pigs and fun, but I don't want that kind of shit near my home

I would move to Pattaya mate as we get none of that type of scum down this way.

And keep your nose clean you daft bastard. Being a hero here is not appreciated and will almost certainly get you a bullet in your head.
