Road blocks, stop and search!
A state within a state scenario.
How much longer can the govt sit idly by and allow this to happen.
They have to act soon.
When do you think?

maybe they think like I do and a few of my Issan dwelling friends that they may go home when the rice is ready or when it starts raining.
a prolonged drought?
when they feel like it, maybe they are waiting for the reds to burn down one of the shopping malls
probably a mind game, once they act and killed a few, they will have the support of the entire population to end that stupid non-sense
It is descending into anarchy in central BKK
70% of the protesters are Bangkok residents, the rest mainly from Isaan and the north- although I personally know a couple of Pattaya dwellers (non- Isaan) there too.Originally Posted by the dogcatcher

I think the majority of Thai can distinguish perfectly between the cattle and the terrorists in the reds demonstration site
nobody like to see cattle being slaughtered, not even the yellow (where would they got their rice then ?), but everyone would be happy to see their terrorist leaders hanged by the balls.

I agree with 4 points, it depends on:
The rice growing cycle
The loyalty of the water melon army
The level of violence
The paience of Bangkokians
maybe waiting for the rains
when they must go back to the land to care for their crops

Anyway, you've missed the boat. The non-farming Issanites living down south have already returned from Songkhran, and we don't expect to see most of them again until Xmas.
can you wait that long?
Abhisit can take pointers from Burma, circa 1988 or 2007... Kill a few thousand reds to let them know who's boss...
The government will obey its paymasters via fear and patronage.
May looks likely, disband Democrats so no loss of face a new constitution limiting franchise few murders, many battered arrested and long term resentment may lead to splitism to use the Chinese jargon.
Kids go back to school 16th May.
