When a person is without good arguement, in order to support their claim or counter claim, they often resort to personal attack such as a persons name or other rubbish "argument".

Suffice it to say, one can belong to a particular group and at the same time be critical of that group. Moreover, I am not British but Australian. I am not part of any "ruling class" and I can tell you my beliefs are formed due to my observations over a very long time whilst overseas in south east asia and other places.

The Ugly Brit Abroard is well known and well documented and sadly is alive and well and living in Thailand....but hopefully for not much longer.

I don't hate the British - not at all. You confuse critisim of a partucular group of Brits with a whole sale dislike for the British which is not entirely accurate however yes, I am very critical of British history and the way many Brits behave overseas.

It is again another load of Double Standards! Families of settlers are having their lands stolen with no compensation by blacks who simply have no idea about farming, but this is in some way acceptable?

Imagine yourself, as an Aussie, suddenely having an Abo government kick you out of your home and hand it over to a bunch of whisky swilling drunks, and not giving you a penny.

What double standards? White South Africans are considered white South Africans, not 4th generation white English (or whatever). And they have legally entrenched rights.

Surely that's his job though regardless of where he is posted so what does he expect? And you can get into the same trouble in Thailand as you can in any other country in the world.

Sounds to me this Civil Servant who you hold in such high esteem is moaning about having to actually do some work rather than drink cold beers and shag prostitutes that he probably thought his job would entail.

If you were stuck in a bar with an aggressive pissed up Pom or Norwegian who would you be most concerned about?

I know most Poms are only taking the piss/ mouthing off when they have had too much to drink, as they do in their pubs back home but an angry, pissed up Norwegian is a different kettle of fish.

It just happens that there are a heap more Poms who travel to Thailand and they move about everywhere and Norwegians stick together in their own pubs which keeps them under control.
