Should I help someone?

there are quite a few families who saved for a long time for their holiday and don't have much spare cash for a "cheap" hotel

Since those few fateful days stuck in that godforsaken airport I have done lots of things for people that need assistance.
The people that helped me before have been repaid many times over and now I try make a concerted effort to "not turn the other cheek" when genuine help is needed.
Today I went to the airport and tried to find somebody who needed help, but unfortunately I could not.
What would you like me to do?
What could have I done differently?
I tried and failed but at least I tried.
I would love to know how I could have been more positive. I can't push myself onto people.

I agree with choosing to fit birds and bringing them back you never know your luck! and any chance of your no. for emergency situations!

well, I didn't expect such a defensive reactiion, or want one

I am glad you replied though and that you have helped lots of people before

I just thought there must have been someone there that needed help, but maybe the airlines are doing a good job

Just reread my post, and yes it was a bit OTT. My apoligies.
I had the right royal hump when I wrote the post (loads of shite to clean up 'cos of the workman, then a very late dinner that didn't taste too good).
