    How the other half live.

One of my clients asked me to go and have a look at a place their parents had recently bought (about 3 months ago). They want the leaves cleared up as they haven't been done this year and to have a general look round and give my thoughts.

When I drove up to the gates and entered the drive I was absolutely gobsmacked. The view of the house from the driveway

The uninterupted view from the back of the house

Took a slow stroll around the place, probably about 3 acres all told and heavily banked. Looking here down to the pond in the property, a path runs all the way down and tou can see the steepness, and all lined with azaleas and rhododendrons

A view from halfway down the path

There is another way to the pond down another grass stretch lined withroses and various shrubs. All these need pruning as they have now been touched at all, and all the grass needs cutting asp as otherwise it will be impossible to cope with. As can be seen from the middle bottom of the picture they also have a mole problem

Here we are looking back toward the main gate, with the store shed in the middle, that would be big enough to live in!!

A fine example of a magnolia

and a last look over the Cheshire countryside

A lot of work involved here, probably two weeks for a clear up and then at least 1 or 2 days work per week just to keep on top of it. Will I get the work? I will just have to wait and see. The owners are not moving in until June, so if nothing is done it will be in a real mess.

    beautiful place.

The land movements look a bit like tuscany, rounded, smooth edged, like a drape unfolding. I guess there's lots of clay in there ?

beaufiful anyways, good luck for the job

Great pics. Beautiful large grounds. You will be busy for a long time if you take the job.

big job mate, i used to love getting those sorts of gigs, as long as the bastards understand just how much work is actually involved
i had one much the same, big initial tidy up, 2 weeks worth of work paid by the previous owner, new bloke turns up fresh from malaysia offers to keep me on for the princely sum of $8 au an hour, non negotiable, i told him to go back to his rubber tree plantation...twas sad to watch the place go down hill cause the tight prick would ,nt pay the right wages to the right people

    good luck with the contract

1 or 2 days per week! It would take me that, to just cut the grass.
