    Beer policy sparks Carlsberg strike

Beer policy sparks Carlsberg strike - UK News - MSN News UK

Scores of Carlsberg workers walked off their jobs in protest on Thursday after the Danish brewer tightened laid-back rules on workplace drinking and removed beer coolers from work sites, a company spokesman said.

The warehouse and production workers in Denmark are rebelling against the company's new alcohol policy, which allows them to drink beer only during lunch hours in the canteen. Previously, they could help themselves to beer throughout the day, from coolers placed around the work sites.

The only restriction was "that you could not be drunk at work. It was up to each and everyone to be responsible," company spokesman Jens Bekke said.
Id be striking for expecting me to drink that shite

I'd rather drink free Carlsberg than paid-for Leo.

Amazing that they have such a policy in the workplace,.

As I understand it, the beer bosses want them only to drink draught during breaks.
No bottled beer when working even if you feel the need.
    Basicly treating adults like kids.

Company truckdrivers still get their 3 bottles of free beer daily.

I worked for United Biscuits once, they had a similar policy when I manned the multibagger for Skips. I ate fukkin loads of em.

Free beer all day as a perk, not bad but Carlsberg?

Probably the worst lager in the world

Allthough I respect your opinion as your private choice, I hope you can reconcile with the fact that Carlsberg is one of the 4 biggest breweries in the world, so the fact that hundreds of millions of beer drinkers would disagre with you should come as no suprise Melv.

English people knows nothing about beer, they drink that lukewarm stuff with no fizz sparkle and bite, I would not pretend to be a Guinnes expert and in the same way I dont expect the English to understand the finer points about lager beer, they haven't been drinking it that long anyway.

When we had Carlsberg here, I'd drink that in preference to Heineken or any of the Thai beers everytime (not that it was good, just better than the other shit!)

^ Ditto with Kloster being my second choice.

In fact I have not seen Kloster around the bars for years and don't know whether it is still available here.

When I first came to Thailand, there were Singha and Kloster on every menu.

Ditto. Carlsberg's Thai partner managed to fuck it up though.
