Probably the best Thai speaker I've seen apart from Todd Lavelle (aka Tong Dee). Biggs is better at 'proper' Thai and Lavelle is better at colloquial Thai.

I'm up near the airport way, but foodland is the closest for my "essentials" like piita bread, brussel sprouts, lamb and other kookie shite.
Only had lunch there because lazyness kicked in.
The German contingent are strong there, so you have tp put your towels out early to get a decent seat in the restaurant.

that shop is just down the road (3Km?) from the condo where I used to live, along with Thai Pom. Went just about every week, we always remarked how full the parking lot was. It was not unusual to see the store packed and I (we) would be the only farang in the place.

Middle class Thais love the place.

A good money spinner for the franchise for sure.

Best time to have the store/restaurant to your self is 9AM Monday mornings lol

He'll be kicking himself that he didn't realise early on as I did that learning past a bare modicum of Thai is a complete waste of time and it was quicker and cheaper to hire a bar-girl prostitute to manage anything that was required in the spoken or written language.

Doubt he's rolling in the big bucks but probably making a decent living so not a "complete" waste of time. On the other hand had he learned Mandarin as well as he has Thai, he would be making far more money.
