Fail Safe this is round 2! Good luck!
I had a conversation with an American in Kanchanaburi , she was about 45 this was 10yrs ago, i had to explain all about the Bridge over the Kwai river and the Japanese rail way saga she had not got a clue .
Which proves...........?
Too many people aren't conversant or knowledgeable about their country's history- it's a sad state of affairs ("Those who forget history..." and all that).
At the moment I'm reading "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn- powerful stuff from a completely different perspective than the usual 'history written by the winners' angle- it's really opening up my mind to some new ideas.
I'm switching back-and-forth between that and "War of the World- History's Age of Hatred" by Niall Ferguson.
If you had met me instead of her in Kanchanburi, your anecdotal experience would have been a bit different.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The subject of Bush has been broached before. I must quite honestly say that I am a bush lover, see the thread below

Hmmmm... this may take some doing to defeat- gimme a minute- there's GOT to be a larger mosquito in the US somewhere....
Here's a rather large one, but it's a pretty crappy model:
Here's an excellent one, but DAMN IT it's Canadian:
I hate to do it, but it looks like I have to admit defeat- I bow to the superior Australian mosquito.
If it wasn't for her those commie pinko liberal wankers would have stayed in power and closed down all the public and private schools turning the UK into a nation of uneducated fuking morons, sadly she only delayed the inevitable for a few years.Originally Posted by khang
