^She has the strange habit of becoming blurred in photos. She is even ghosted in the kiwi pic. Maybe she is a secretly a hybrid changeling creature of the spirit world...

I once got shitfaced at a house party and they threw my into a bed and put the leccy blanket on at 1 side. I woke up later star shaped on my back, no idea where I was with one side of my body freezing and the other melting. Thought I'd had a stroke.

With the head of a vulture and body of a parrot, the Dracula Parrot is one of nature's most beautiful and unnerving birds.

^^ Wow, that's pretty incredible! I'm surprised the eagle does not appear to have a particular range.

Map tracked the movement of 20 eagles over one year, not just of a single bird | Fact Check

A set of photos and a map are being shared on Facebook purporting to show the 20-year journey from Russia to Saudi Arabia of an eagle with a GPS tracker. This is misleading; the map shows the migration route of 20 juvenile Steppe Eagles over a year.

Meeting a water monitor (lizard) when walking with my dogs. Luckily, I could make a snapshot, hearing the exciting barking. And luckily, he can always escape into the river, incredibly fast...

In the 1640s the Dutch inhabitants of New Amsterdam built a 12' wall to protect the city. In 1664 the British bypassed it and took the city by the sea. It's now called New York. They took down the wall and built a street now known as Wall Street...

I have a few days in Otautahi, Aotearoa before heading back to the Sandpit. The Canterbury women's side was playing Wellington women's side in the Farah Palmer Cup provincial competition. Seeing as how I had absolutely nothing on my dance-card on a Sunday afternoon, a bit of the ol' rugby sounded good.

The game turned out to be a cracker of a contest with the home side nipping it with 44 seconds left to win 23-22.
