Speaking of our pool - the pump carked it and the guy in charge of our pool cleaning service was away on vacation - typical NZ

I hope ya got it heated. ?

The fuker would be freezing most of the time in NZ and mostly suitable for a duck pond.

I had one in Perth and it was mainly good for 3-4 months of the year.

    Never have one again.

    Spa OK.

Yup, solar as well as the cover but it's only good for a short while

Yup - a money and effort drain is all it is

And Perth is a good deal hotter for longer than Auckland . . . we had a pool in Sydney, it wasn't much better but this thing is useless . . . it looked good when we bought the place when moving down to NZ

My first car was a VW that I bought off my neighbour (for $400).
I was working in at Wentworth Park Dogs to earn some cash while still at school.
One afternoon, I pulled into the car park at work.
Just I was getting out of the car, my neighbour's dog raised its head from the back seat to say hello!

^ I've tried it. It was awful.

Just my opinion, of course. Each to their own.

Back in the day didn't they do a beer with a red label that was a stout?

Used to drink it in Sydney and liked it a lot.

Then a few years later I bought a few of those with the red label in the picture and they tasted more like the brews generally popular in Australia. Gnats piss.

Coopers Brewery in South Australia produces some of the best ales in Arsetralia.

Also do some good Dark beers

I brewed my own for many years, still have my Kit in my shed.

Fire her up again one day.

Loved a pint of Fosters in the UK.

    Preferred Carling though, British.

They're holes in the ground that you throw money in. Almost as bad as a sailboat or ski-boat.

    Very true, happy.

I went down to NZ on a house search by myself as my wife couldn't get away from work . . . went to see about twenty in three locations. Whatsapped the pics and commentary vids back to Malaysia where it was a balmy 32 degrees (as opposed to 7 degrees or so in September Auckland) . . . the pool looked nice and gleamy, shiny and inviting (from far away).
The suburb was right (close to the city centre), the house was right (5 BR for all of us and two studies), the area was right (older and surrounded by parks) . . . done deal.

    Shit pool, I hate it

That's the way, looks brilliant . . . and the climate. Our pools in Thailand and Malaysia - fully worth it. NZ? Nope.

How badly is your pool affected by all the vegetation around it, especially those nasty palm-kernels?
