I love the fact you still got the shot even when the mantis lunged at you. Natural instinct can be to jump back even though it can't hurt you. Great shots.

A bottle of Belgian BarBar honey lager 8% ABV will only set you back 130 baht at The Winebox in Phuket. Knockdown bargain when a bottle of Singha will cost you 90 baht in the same joint. It is 60% stronger but only 45% more expensive!



The pizza was only 160 baht.

I normally think of Thailand as expensive compared to Aussie for drinking wine but the Winebox has a large and cheap wine selection. You can have a bottle of sparkling white wine in an ice bucket at your table for 550 baht. Probably cheaper to get plastered in the Winebox on fake champagne with an elevated beachfront view than to drink standard piss on Bangla road.

Staff are quite good too.

Caveat - there is a 10% service charge on all bills.

^They are very nice although not huge so it is not really a meal by itself.

Maybe I got the name wrong but I remember it as The Winebox. I think they are a chain.

I quite like Wine Connection too, but normally the one in Central Festival.

550 for a very drinkable bottle of plonk, add a nice tuna pizza and some pork rillette with a bread basket and it's something like 1,000 Baht I think. A bit more if I decide to finish off with an Irish coffee or a cognac but decent service and I can sit outside and smoke a ciggy while I watch the passers by.
